you can give a cookie mix in a jar you just layer all the dry ingredients in a jar and get a fancy card with the instructions on how to make them.

Here are some of my favorite jar recipes:

Dreamsicle Cookies

1/2 c. Tang
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vanilla chips
1 3/4 c. flour mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar. Press each layer down firmly before adding next layer.

Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Add: 1 stick butter, 1 egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Place 2" apart on sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-14 min until tops are very lightly browned. Cool 5 min on baking sheet, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Friendship Soup Mix

1/2 c. dried split peas
1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. beef bouillon granules
1/4 c. dried barley
1/2 c. dried lentils
1/4 c. dried minced onions
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1/2 c. macaroni put in a snack-size zip-top bag

Layer the ingredients in order given in a quart-size jar. Put the macaroni on top.

1 jar Friendship Soup Mix
3 quarts water
1 lb. ground beef
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

Remove the package of macaroni and set aside. In a very large Dutch oven or stock pot, brown the ground beef; drain off the fat. Add the water, tomatoes, and soup mix. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 45-60 min. Add reserved macaroni and simmer another 15-20 min or until peas, lentils, barley and noodles are tender.

You can find some ideas here on this Christmas food gifts page...
Hope you can find something.
