Party foods?!

Question:

Party foods?

i am in highschool and am having a party for my friends sixteenth birthday. We are having people sign up for different food and drink. But i need ideas on good party snack that are also decently priced.
i have thought of chex mix, pretzels and chips and dip.
This is an evening party so they have already ate dinner before they came. There are around 45 that should show up...
about half boys and half girls. im not really sure of how much of anything to get either if anyone knows that as well...

I would suggest maybe cheese and crackers, bakery type bread, and some fruits are always good. Strawberries, grapes, pineapple, etc. Depends on how hungry you think they will be. And if it's going to be cold that night, you might consider hot chocolate and smores (if you have a safe place to do the marshmellow toasting). Have fun!

you can also do cookies an cakes also ask some other good friends of yours an the birthday girl to chip an an make some cookies dont forget soda an punch

TONS AND TONS OF CANDY!!!!!! LOL!

Candy, trail mix, and bite-sized cookies may work well.

If you know what seven layer dip is, it is wonderful!! Serve it up with some tortilla chips. Also love the fruit idea...maybe some chocolate to dip it in? Have fun!

The dip is perfect people ask me to make it all the time.. 2 recipes.. one is just layers can of refried beans(bottom) sourcream, taco seasoning(whole packet), lettuce, shredded fiesta cheese, tomatoes(chopped), black olives..

Other is
get a crock pot..
5 jars of tostitos con queso cheese dip ( or someting similar)
2 lbs ground beef(cook it)
add the jars and cooked GB together let warm up in crock pot.. serve with Tortilla chips..
That's the most popular..especially with teens..

I would recommend hot wings if anyone happens to have missed dinner, and they are great for snacks too.

With that many coming you will need to plan on having some food. I would go to Sam's Club and buy the big can of nacho cheese and the big box of tortilla chips & a jar of jalapinos. Set up a crock pot and serve nachos at your party. These are really pretty inexpensive to serve. I would also consider doing some hot dogs or sandwiches - cuz you know how guys are (they want some meat).

pig in a blanket, pizza bites, cheese cubes, vegetables & dip, also you can go to the frozen food section and get alot of other dishes or finger foods. like chicken wings, drums....ect. have fun and good luck.
