Do you have a recipe for a non-alcoholic version of an alcoholic beverage?!

Question:

Do you have a recipe for a non-alcoholic version of an alcoholic beverage?

I'm having a Christmas gathering at my house with some friends. I'm planning to serve wine and one mixed drink (like a mimosa or cosmo), but two of my friends are pregnant, so I was hoping to find a non-alcoholic version of the alcoholic mixed drink. Does anyone have any recipes?

Answers:
7-up and a splash of grenadine does the trick. Or cranberry juice with two splashes of orange juice.

if thats true then it wouldn't be an acholic beverage.dumb!!!

i would just go with a punch or smoothie, because any non-alcoholic drink is no alcohol at all

you could get maragita mix and not put alcohol in it.

you can find already mixed drinks that your supposed to add alcohol to, just don't. you can find these at any supermarket.

you can make most frozen alcoholic drinks, like margaritas or daquiris, by using club soda instead of alcohol.

NON-Alcoholic ... Alcoholic Beverage..?? Man it's funny : doesn't this contradict each other....

enjoy the party!

Seltzer and cranberry juice.

Serve whatever you planned... your friend can drink OJ from the Mimosa or Cranberry Juice from the Cosmo. Simple.

How about a virgin Miami Vice?

INGREDIENTS:
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz coconut cream
1/2 oz half & half cream
1 1/2 oz strawberry puree
1 1/2 oz lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup
1 cup ice, crushed
strawberry for garnish
PREPARATION:
Place the pineapple juice, coconut cream, cream and a half a cup of ice into a blender.
Blend the mixture until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a highball glass.
Place the strawberry puree, lime juice, simple syrup and the remaining half cup of ice into a blender.
Blend the mixture until smooth.
Slowly pour the strawberry-lime mixture over the back of a barspoon on top of the pineapple-coconut mixture.
Garnish with a strawberry.

Cranberry juice with some 7up or at my sister's babyshower she made these drinks that were like smoothies but put them into martini glasses. Just take crushed ice, any frozen fruit or berry and a touch of apple juice and blend!

I find that seltzer has the bubbly fizz that adds something special to non-alcoholic drinks. Club soda and tonic water are kind of bitter. Some simple but tasty non-alcoholic drinks:

Hawaiian punch made with lime seltzer instead of water
Shirley Temple which is Sprite and grenadine
Lemonade with a bit of grenadine
Drink mixes (like margarita mix, mai tai mix, etc) using seltzer and/or juices instead of the alcohol

Serve the drinks in the same type of glass as the alcoholic drink. Somehow that makes the drink taste better. It's all about the stemware...as long as everyone has the same kind of glass...everyone will be happy.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Mari
