I am serving Finger Sandwiches at my son and daughters JOINT bday party!. I am going to do turkey and ham on white and wheat and cut them corner to corner in order to lay them out nicely, I am going to offer lettuce tomato onions cheese and condiments on the side for the guests to add as they like!. How close to party time do I need to make the sandwiches!.!.!. without them getting too gross before the party which is 2 - 4 on Saturday, can i do them Friday night or is that completely out of the question!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would wait until Saturday morning if at all possible!. Then cover them tightly if they are on a tray & refrigerate them until the party!. If you do not put any mayo, or mustard on them they will be fine!. We used to do sandwich trays & cut them in quarters & put toothpicks in them to hold them together!. The tray had a tight fitting lid on it!. We made them as close to pick up time as we could so they looked as nice as possible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

friday is definitely out, you could start making the sandwiches at about 12 on saturday!. i mean they are simple foods to prepare!. doing it this time will keep them fresh!. and since cheese will be in them by time the party starts they will be gone!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I still like the idea of birthday cake and punch along with either pizza or barbecue hot dogs!. I eat sandwiches every day!. I hope these are adults because they are not kiddie food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
