It depends whether you are having a very formal or less formal wedding!. Formal weddings are usually seated dinners with a selection of two or three entrees!. Less formal weddings sometimes have buffets!. Beware of buffets as the caterer will have to make sure there is enough food to feed everyone and they usually try to keep everything full, as it looks better!. This can be a pricier option, depending on what you choose to serve!. Always compare prices carefully!.

also, if you are going formal, it is considered bad etiquette to list the actual choices on the invitation!. You can write it on the RSVP so they can check off their choice or on a separate paper/card that they can include with the RSVP!. You caterer may also give you the option of tableside, where guests can choose at the time of the wedding!.!.!.there is ALWAYS an extra fee for this!.

I think you should chose what you and your fiance(e) want to have!. The weddig is about you and not your guests!. They should be happy with whatever you choose!. Your memories of the day are the ones that count!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on who is providing the food!. I dislike those standard hotel "beef, chicken, or fish/vegetarian" meals with blah vegetables and a small green salad!. It also seems like it would be difficult to plan unless everyone sent back an RSVP with their choice on it!.

Unless you're doing a really formal wedding, I would go with the buffet!. That way, people can graze and eat what they want!.

My cousin had a very lavish wedding at an exclusive country club in Palm Springs a couple years ago!. And, it was a buffet, complete with prime rib and lobster!. And, instead of cake for dessert, they served ice cream, because my cousin is allergic to wheat gluten!.

If it's your wedding, do what you want with what you can afford!. People will be happy just to be there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I perfer sit down dinners, but I can bet you 10 to 1 that your caterer is trying to tell you a choice of entrees is setting yourself up for a nightmare!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
