Cake design for 23 yr old man?!
ok my bf is turning 23 and he likes g-unit, the lakers, and the dodgers!.!.!. without the cake being cheesy!.!.!. or kiddie!.!.!. what are some ideas i can go withWww@FoodAQ@Com

Make a big layer cake and cover it with orange/rust frosting!. Hold a flat knife against it and pull out, so that it's textured!. Then get some dark brown gel icing for stitching - a BASKETBALL! You could do that in white, with red lacing, if you wanted to make a baseball:) !.!.!. Put some pennants on the table to set the platters of food on!. (It's hard to do a theme that's purple, gold AND blue:) !.!.!. Nordicware makes a bundt cake pan in the shape of a football stadium, but you could definitely use that for a ball diamond:) Put some green coconut in the middle for grass, and lay graham cracker crumbs for the warning track & base lanes; and put in white chicklets for the bases:) Williams Sonoma has them, but they'll be cheaper on eBay (new)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Gosh!. I hate to sound like a party pooper!.!.!. but how about just doing his favorite cake and not trying to make it look like a juvenile cake!? Do a gourmet cake!. There are plenty of easy recipes on-line!. Try Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting, Banana nut cake with Caramel frosting, or do a lemon pound cake with raspberry glaze!. Whatever he likes!. Then just do birthday candles!. If he likes the Lakers!.!.!.write Happy Birthday and tuck a pair of Lakers tickets on top in a little ticket sized envelope!. also, consider this!.!.!.it will mean a whole lot more to him if you take the effort to make a homemade cake that will taste so good it'll knock his socks off! A huge beer bottle cake!. That's chocolate flavored!. And you can put those alcohol-filled chocolate candies on top as decor!.
