Creative ways to present a meat and cheese tray?

Looking for any fun creative ways to put together a cheese and meat tray? Any ideas?

just to add to the others....you could "skewer" them...I usually get some fun skewers from the party shop and alternate the meat/ cheese on the skewers..you could also add some olives., pickle chunks..or even pineapple (depending on the types of meats).

You could do it on a bed of lettuce and tomato. I know this isn't very creative, but it looks nice.

Use small cookie cutters on the cheese and hard meats (salami, pepperoni, etc.).

I hope you're considering Salami slices wrapped around Cream cheese. YUM!
Celery filled with it too.

I make the deli tray where I work. This is the way we do our meat and cheese. Start with a bed of green leaf lettuce to cover the tray. Use three different meats sliced thin enough to roll and three different kind of cheese. Stack the cheese evenly and then cut in half. Then kind of zig zag the cheese as you stack it on the tray. You will divide the tray into thirds with your cheese. Then roll your meats and cut in half and stack in rows between the cheeses. In the center make a bed of lettuce and put drained baby sweet pickles. This looks nice.

Here's what I do... go to the deli dept's of grocery stores (esp. this time of year) and take a catering brochure. Inside are pictured some gorgeous meat/chz trays. Just copy the one you like! It will always involve laying some greenery down on the tray first, though, not just meat on a platter!

You have several options. Layer the meats and cheeses in a pinwheel around the centerpiece, or layer them to look like spokes. Do a mix of sliced cheese, cubed cheese, crumbled cheese, even cutting cheese into sticks and stacking little towers.
(All this on a bed of leaf lettuce)

For the centerpiece, get a large martini glass or margarita glass. Fill it with bunches of green and red grapes, hanging over the edge of the glass. Then take strawberries, slit them almost up to the green top, and hang those on the edge of the glass. Sprinkle that and the whole platter with mixed fresh berries.

It's really sensational, and I got kudos from the chef at a swanky country club when I made that.

If you are making a round try then between each layer of meat or cheese put fruit such as grapes and orange slices.

Items needed:

1 Party Tray

1 pound deli Roast Beef, sliced thinly
1/2 pound deli Turkey Breast, sliced thinly
1/2 pound Cheddar cheese, sliced
1/2 pound American cheese, sliced
1/2 pound Swiss cheese, sliced
1-6 ounce can of large black olives, pitted, drained
Curly leafed Parsley for garnish

Roll each cut of meat into approximately a one-inch circle. Place a few of the rolled beef slices stacking them on top of each other on the tray. Across from the rolled beef slices do the same with the rolled up turkey slices.Soften the cheese slices and roll them up and place them between the meat slices on the tray. Leave enough space between the meat and cheese to place the parsley for a garnish. Continue placing all the rolled meat and cheese around the tray until it is completely covered.Garnish with black olives in the center of the tray. This can be made ahead of time, covered and refrigerated to be served later.
