Okay sweetie I have been cooking hoildays dinners for about 4 years now roughly. I am a good cook so I have been told every year I love to change it up but sometimes the traditionals have to stay. So I love doing brown sugar ham just buy the ham at the grocery store and clean the ham with washing it off. Add brown sugar all over it and patt it good. Also can add a can of pineapple juice and let that cook. I always fix a chesse pie and have some stove top stuffing cause it is the easiest and more and mroe people love it I just cook it with broth instead of water gives it that home cooked flaver. This year as far as sides I am doing racheal rays smashed potatoes. And a green bean casserole. And then some corn casserole. And I think I am also going to do a tuna noodle casserole it is easy and good. And then yest rolls I do make them from scratch cause it just tates. Good as long as u go with ure heart. And do what is from ure heart. Then it shouldnt really matter. And as u do it u will get better with every year. Hope this helps you sweetie

well this might sound weird and im not sure if you like seafood or spicy food but my family always has chili or crab legs. crab legs is sometimes a bit expensive for 20 people...so a nice chili recipe could be different

Cone bread and collard greens with some sausage up in it.

Turkey dinner is traditional! Do what's called brining the turkey in salt water and coriander first the day before to make it juicier. Compliment it with cocktail sausages, yams, golden baked potatoes, roasted carrots, brussel sprouts, stuffing, ham with pineapple and cherries, creamed peas and onions, and some kind of side buns, along with good white wine.
Cook the turkey on top of what's called marequo (diced carrots, celery, and onions over lard with seasoning salt and pepper on top and then place the turkey on top with butter slices that melt over while cooking). Use the marequo to make excellent gravy!
I almost forgot cranberry sauce! Either buy a canned version or make it yourself with actual cranberries and sugar boiled in water with sugar.
Snacks before dinner:
-picked herring, crackers, pickles, chees, garlic sausage, anti-pasto, pickled onions, sweet and sour meatballs, liver patie, etc...

Depends on how good of a cook u r and how much u r willing 2 spend.R they pork eaters,vegetarians.Because i love a honey baked ham.Well here's a little something.
Yellow squash and cherry tomatoes in basil butter.
1lb yellow squash
8ozcherry tom halves
2/3cup butter

Slice squash and tomato and saute butter . when u make ur basil butter use a food processor don't put the sqush an tom in there. And there's always dinner on the go at most groceries dessert an all.

Basil butter
3garlic cloves minced
1shollot mined
3/4 fresh basil
1/2 cup butter or margarine soften
pepper and salt to taste

Or u even may want to get some good wine and grill out depending on the weather were u r.But since its u first just go wit what u think is safe 4 u.

green bean caserole.

For main dishes I would go the ham route, and specifically I would do Heavenly Ham. They cook and slice it and everything. You just pick it up. For sides you should do all the traditionals which are so easy. Mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, corn, green beans with ham flavoring, cranberry sauce, crescent rolls, yams, etc. Good Luck and I'm sure it will be great! Oh yeah, almost forgot, a lot of people go crazy for that green bean casserole and the recipe is on the back of the onion straw package.

There are some good ideas on this website : http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk/christ...

You could always make a honey glazed ham with mashed potaotos corn and garlic and bacon green beans.
For desert a cheesecake with cherries on top and some fun christmas cookies.
