Well if you wanted to take something hot this is an old family recipe and I guarntee u want no one else have this it is called a chesse pie
All you need is salt crackers or we call them soda crackers. And 1 block of chesse or a 1 lb of sherred.
Take the crackers and crush them up and line the bottom of a casserole dish with them. And then add chesse keep reapeting the layers to you get to the top. And add a little more chesse. Now whip up you one egg and a little milk togather. And pour that one top. It is best if you poke hols in the casserole dish threw the crackers and chesse pour the egg and milk mixature in thier. And then after that pour some more milk on the casserole till it comes to the top of the chesse bake in the oven for about 45 minutues until the crust and the chesse is nice and golden brown serves around 15 people depending on how much people eat it is really good. And an easy dish.

Have you thought about something that ISN'T too rich - and might perhaps be something light and refreshing.

Very few people will take anything like this - but MANY folks would like a slightly lighter dish after perhaps eating heavy food for the last few days at other parties / meals etc.

A really nice "lemon icebox" - sort of a zingy cross between a sorbet and ice cream - for those that find ANOTHER Christmas pudding just a little to much to bear!

There are a few alternative ideas here : http://www.recipesforvegans.co.uk/christ...

7 layer dip with lots of green white and red things.

For example red pepper, green pepper, sour cream, tomatoes, salsa sauce, chopped green onion, cream cheese.

Have a nice get together with your family.

Corn casserole:

2 eggs
1 can cream-style corn, (14 3/4-ounce)
1 pint sour cream
1 small box cornbread mix (approx. 8 ounces)
6 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Grease a 9-inch square baking dish. Beat eggs in a mixing bowl. Stir in cream-style corn and sour cream until well blended. Add salt, cornbread mix and melted butter; mix well. Stir in shredded cheese.

Pour casserole ingredients into prepared baking dish
Bake 350 for 30 min

I like broccoli. rice and chees casserole. They have other great recipes on www.recipe.com

Make a fesive coleslaw. Take shredded cabbage, carrots, onions, red & green bell peppers. Toss together with a jar of T Margurites slaw dressing ( in the produce section ) Place in serving bowl & sprinkle with paprika.....Quick, yummy & pretty too!

I enjoy taking a good dessert to a Christmas dinner. Oreo dessert or pretzel salad dessert ALWAYS go over well. There are never any leftovers and I'm lucky if I get a piece for myself.

It just depend but most parties already have the main dishes. I would do a fruit salad with mixed fruit, cool whip, and pecans. You can alter it any way you want and can't go wrong. Most people eat fruit and no one will make fun of your dish (LOL).

somethign simple, like green bean casserole
