Any ideas for a Christmas lunch?!

Question: Any ideas for a Christmas lunch!?
I have agreed to take on a challenge!

My family has asked me if I would be interested in cooking Christmas dinner this year and, after a little hesitation, I agreed!.

However, I’m not what one would call a passionate cook!. In fact, I try and avoid cooking as much as I can and, if I do, the food which I prepare usually comes out tasteless and boring!.

I’m looking for great tasting and looking ideas which are simple and easy to cook!. I am responsible for the entree, meat and veg as well as something small for desert (the pudding has is being taken care by someone else)!.

I would appreciate any advice from those who can provide me with some great suggestions for my menu!.

hi Majenta, you poor thing, how would you like to bowl them over!. Here we go where I am we have a White Christmas ( For the smarties I mean it snows)!.

I nice creamy mushroom soup (Campbells is okay, and for gods sake hide the cans) but dice up some crab or shrimp and throw them in, if you use green (uncooked peeled shrimp even better flavour)!. Don't be stingy on the shrimp or crab!. Add some clams in as well, that will shock the diapers off of your lot!. Oh hell use all three blow the expence!.

Leg of pork,( who needs turkey) score the skin (diamond shape), massage olive oil and really work some sea salt or kosher salt into the score do it with love!. Then warm half a cup of honey and brush the leg all over!. In oven on high heat to commence the skin to crackle, then turn heat down to about 325 for about 3 hours, basting with the pan juices!. Now you have two choice you can bake your carrots, pumpkin and potato, both normal and sweet potatoe, you can have mashed potatoe and mashed pumpkin!. Your choice, the later would be too much fiddling!. The other to give you the green part I would go with a tossed salad, everyone has the peas and beans!. For the gravy use the pan juices, by draining off some of the oil or fat, deglaze with some wine add 1/2 cup chicken stock, allow to reduce and thicken!. If you have to make it a little more thicker use a very small of corn starch, but really make sure you mix it in well not to have little lumps!.

Desert pick up some orange pound cake, french vanilla ice cream a packet of Jello, make your Jello, watch what flavor you use if your cake is orange flavour!. Dice cake pour a little madira liquor over cubes (not too much, take it easy there girl) start layering the serving cups one good layer of each, topped with a whipped cream spiral with a cherry on top!. It looks hard, but sit down and look at it, it so simple you will even surprise the Pop with all that!.

Does that help you!? Gee your going to be a genius!.

My sister made this sweet potato pie from Ruths Chris Restaurant and it was soooooooooooooooooo good!. I made it too and it is super easy!. It's a big hit!. look at website below and good luck!.

also turkey is super easy!. Just take all the stuff out of the middle, put garlic salt and pepper all over the turkey and totally wrap it in foil!. Look in a cookbook for the cooking time!. The last 10-15 minutes open the foil and broil it (watch it doesnt burn)!. It comes out really juicy every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
