I need some ideas for christmas breakfast?!

Question:

I need some ideas for christmas breakfast?

I have ordered a pastry tray from the local bakery and I would like some other ideas for things to serve. My husbands parents are divorced and we would like to keep it as casual as possible because they will be visiting in the morning along with a few other guest. More of a buffet type deal. Thanks a bunch!

Answers:
A fruit, cold cut (ham, turkey, prosciutto etc.) & cheese tray with a hollowed out pineapple as the center (filled with the cubes of pineapple and strawberries and grapes). Slice up cataloupe and make it colorful and decorative. This will look like you spent some time on it and it offers many different kinds of foods.

Bagels & English Muffins (a few different kinds) with sides of flavored cream cheeses & preserves.

Tea sandwiches. Get the Pepperidge farm mini loafs and cut into triangles.. fill with chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, etc. (whatever you prefer). (I suppose this would be if they will be staying closer to noon).

cinnimon rolls and coffee.... I always check out Rachel Ray... her stuff is good and simple. I always feel like a gormet chef!

how about just chocalate chip pancakes and muffins and some hot coco, that would be really good. (getting hunry thinking about it)!

- mini muffins (corn, choc chip, blueberry)

- cut fruit

- breakfast burritos

My mom always makes a breakfast quiche with eggs, sausage, cheese, and whatever else you think would be good in it.

breakfast strombolis are good, just set bread dough out to rise before bed (either frozen or homemade) .... in morning, flatten or roll out like for pizza and then layer cooked sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese on dough when you are ready, fold it and bake 30-40 at 350

You could make a stuffed french toast, because everyone could slice that on their own. Also a quiche is always good. . .if you have pastry ordered that will cover the sweets. . .maybe some good breads/bagels and spreads. Like banana nut bread, etc. Those are always a big hit. If you want to include meats you could have a spiral ham, pre sliced for people to take slices of. . . .and then round it all off with a fruit bowl. Have a nice variety of coffee, teas, juices and milks on hand. . . .

Coffee with your pastries, juice(Tomato would be good because it is not sweet)Bagels and cream cheese. Have different flavored creamers to go in the coffee if people would like. Your grocery store will have these in the dairy section. Tea bags and hot water for anyone who might not like coffee. Make sure you have cream and sugar for coffee or tea. If you want something hot make or order a couple of quiches. Have fun

Coffee And Biscotti & Fruit

This recipe is great and easy. I always make it the day before and just bring it to room temperature before baking that morning.

Sausage and Potato Casserole

1 pound breakfast sausage
2 tablespoons flour
11/2 cups milk

1 1 pound package of frozen O'Brien potatoes
4 green onions, finely chopped
1 1/4 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter 8x8x2-inch glass baking dish. Cook sausage until brown breaking into small pieces. Mix in flour, then milk. Cook until mixture thickens stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Arrange potatoes in prepared dish. Top with 1/3 onions, 1 cup cheese, 1/3 onions, sausage mixture, and remaining 1/4 cheese.

Bake until potatoes are tender, about 45 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining onions and serve.

Hope you enjoy!

When my boys were very young I started making pigs in the blanket and a fruit salad. It's easy and portable and would lend itself to a buffet menu wonderfully.

Frozen rolls (Such as Bridgeford or Parkerhouse)
Allow to thaw in refrigerator overnight. In the morning cut the rolls in half if you use the Eckrich sausages; cut in 1/4's or 1/3's if you use Brian smokies. Drain which ever sausage on a pad of paper towels, then completely wrap in the dough. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet or baking pan and allow to rise for a few minutes while you are playing with the toys (or finding batteries).

Bake according to the instructions for the rolls or until golden brown. Serve with mustard, because everyone likes to dip!

sausage and apple quiche.

TACOS!!!!!!!!!!!

Some fruit is always nice apples, oranges.
