Answers:
I would have 2 different type of chicken wings (one representing Obama the other McCain-perhaps buffalo wings and bbq wings or a mild and a hot!. (You can buy these cooked in the freezer section-boxed or bagged- TGIF makes a family size bbq and hot wing!.

Left wing
Right wing

If you don't like the wing idea how about crockpot meatballs

Here's a recipe for the meatballs
1 bag frozen meatballs (40 to 50 count)
1 (16 oz) jar grape jelly
1 (8 oz) jar chili sauce or cocktail sauce
Put all ingredients in in crock pot and cook for 4-6 hours (depending if you do low or high setting

Baby Carrots/Celery, broccolli w/ ranch dip

Salsa and chips--guac or hummus for the vegeterians

Beer and Soda

Something sweet like brownies, cookies, or mini candy bars

Rumor is
Obama likes caramel corn
McCain likes Butterfingers---
that might be something cute to get!

Southern Comfort Punch

6oz can frozen lemonade
6oz can frozen orange juice
3liters lemon lime soda
6oz lemon juice
750ml -1 bottle of southern comfort

Mix all ingredients in punch bowl except lemon lime soda!. Stir and then add in lemon lime soda!. Add in a block of iceWww@FoodAQ@Com

I found a great blog post with some fantastic suggestions (I am looking for ideas too) check it out:

Here is an except:

So your Election Night party is coming up quick, and you need some ideas for what to serve everyone!. No problem! Here are a few fun and easy ways to make the menu at your election theme party spectacular!

Go with an all American dinner menu; hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw, and lots of beer!. Summer food is always fun when it is chilly out!

You can use recipes that are popular from the candidate's home states:

Barack Obama - Illinois

*Chicago-Style Hot Dog
* Horseshoes

John McCain - Arizona

*Black Bean And Corn Salad
* Famous Chicken Adobo

Just for fun, I would create a Democrat and Republican desserts and see which "party" gets devoured first!

* Candied apples vs caramel apples with blue sprinkles
* Apple pie and blueberry cobbler
* Cupcakes that have red or blue icing
* And donkey and elephant cookie cutters are available at Fantes!.com
* Serve an American Flag cake to represent party unity!

Done correctly, dessert could represent a real debate!

also, I just posted a blog on music for an an election night party, so just in case you need ideas for that, here is the link:

As for a punch recipe, I have used this one from allrecipes!.com and I love it - http://allrecipes!.com/Recipe/Luscious-Sl!.!.!.

Have a great time at your party!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you want something substantial in the crockpot, how about chili!? If you'd rather go with a snack, then a hot bean dip is always good, with tortilla chips!. A cold cuts tray with some good bakery rolls or bread, a big bowl of nuts, two kinds of cheese (one for spreading, one for slicing), maybe a pasta salad that you could make that afternoon!.

There are some good punches available in the freezer section of major supermarkets!. Look for the lemonade and orange juice cans and there should be several punch options in the same area!.

Don't forget an easy-to-eat dessert, like cookies or maybe that leftover Halloween candy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would see what you could do with a red, white, and blue theme since its an election party! If you go on this website Familyfun!.com they have a TON of recipes and ideas for patriotic parties!. I would definitely try and do a buffet style dinner so that all the food/drinks are out on the table and then everyone can serve themselves when they want!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about something in the crockpot that can be kept on for awhile!. Maybe some pork barbeque or sloppy joes!. Cheese and crackers, a good spinach and artichoke dip, chips, pretzels, peanuts still in their shells are good!. For punch, try cranberry juice, sierra mist, and some sherbet!. Water chestnuts wrapped in bacon slices with barbeque sauce are sometimes a hit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
