How much are you supposed to tip a cocktail waitress?!

Question:

How much are you supposed to tip a cocktail waitress?

I realize that waiters get 15-20% but am I supposed to tip every time she brings a drink?

Answers:
Generally you should tip about a dollar a drink. Drinks are between $3 and $5 each, so a dollar a drink is a good tip. Or say for example a drink is $3.25 -- give her $4.

If you're running a tab then you should tip 20-25% at the end.

When I go out, I usually give $1 - $2 per drinks. There are a couple of bars I go to where I know the bartender, and she makes the drinks extra good, so I tip them a lil better.

Food is 18% these days ..at a club..1.00 a drink will guarantee better service...

$1 a drink each time she serves you.

Same as a waitress because she is a cocktail waitress. 15%.

I was a cocktail waitress for a year and I always expected atleast $1.00 per drink. That is the standard in Los Angeles and any other place I have been. I generally made more than that per drink. Every once in awhile I made less. If people bought a round of drinks or opened a tab I made anywhere for a buck a drink to over 20% in tips off the total. I recommended a buck a drink. It's kind, customary, and will keep the waitress coming back!

you don't have to tip every time she brings a drink. Try to keep tabs on how much you spend, and give her 15-20% of the total you spent.
