Movie theatres use refined coconut oil to pop their popcorn in!.!.!. they also use the powdered buttersalt flavouring that you can get at places like Bulk Barn!.
You can use a stainless steel pot (with a lid), some coconut oil, and some buttersalt flavour to make stove-popped popcorn that tastes like it's from the theatre!.
also, if you want REALLY authentic stuff, you can sometimes go down to a place like IMAX after a show and get a whole garbage bag of popcorn for nothing!. They have to make fresh popcorn for each show - so if they have leftovers, they just throw it away anyway!. Tell them you're having a big party and you're willing to negotiate a discounted price!. They'll usually tell you to keep your money!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

They use a very mysterious looking yellow goop that goes into the big popcorn machines!. Its really disgusting actually!. They also sprinkle powdered butter salt flavor over it!. But the yellow goop is probably sold in bulk exclusively, and you need the special machine for it!. If you put it in your popcorn maker I think you would break it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Check at dollar stores for butter flavored salt!. Movie theater salt is very fine and it adds flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
