Question: I need some appetizer ideas and!.!.!.!.!.!.not the chips and dips and weiners in a crock pot!?
I need some creative culinary ideas for some appetizers and snacks for a party!. We have no budget restrictions but we like to prep and serve the food ourselves!. So, if your ideas are wieners in bbq sauce or Philadelphia cheese rolls with mint jelly and triscuits!.!.!.!.don't waste your time!. Looking for "uncommon ideas" only please!.Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Get a really nice french bread stick from the bakery!. Slice into small pieces!. You will need some olive oil and some really nice Balsamic vinegar - you can get these from a deli, make sure it is a good quality balsamic, it will enhance the taste!. Lay out the bread and put the oil and balsamic in separate bowls or serving dishes!. You dip the bread in the oil and then the balsamic and it is such a nice taste!. Something different from chips and dips!. also maybe put an olive or tomato tapenade out to spread on the bread!. Hope it helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I live in France and we use all kinds of different foods for appetizers!. Toast some bread or bake a baguette, cut toast into triangles, baguette into thick slices, and top them with good cold cuts, cheese or even Tapenade!. We serve oysters, gambas, fruit balls, souflé, foie gras, paté, smoked salmon, olives, asparagus, and many other things!. Basic Tapenade recipe:
3/4 cup good black olives, drained
4 anchovy filéts
1 large garlic clove (or more to taste)
2 Tbsp capers, rinsed and drained
1 Tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
1 Tbsp brandy
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp fresh thyme
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
mix everything except the olive oil in a food processor together until smooth, then slowly add oil in a slow stream while running the motor!. put in fridge to chill and ready to use!. will keep for up to one week!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mini Caviar Pies
Boil 3 eggs, peel, dice, mix with 1 tbsp of mayonnaise!. Meanwhile, bake mini phyllo shells or buy premade patti shells, Fill each shell with egg mixture, top with a small dollup of whipped cream cheese, then top with caviar!.

Bruschetta w/Marinara & Goat Cheese
Slice baguette bread at an angle, drizzle with olive oil, then bake at 375F until toasty!. Meanwhile make marinara sauce, place in an oval shaped casserole dish, add slices of goat cheese, top with fresh grated parmigiana reggiano, then bake until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly!. Serve with toasted baguette bread rounds!.

Pickled Shrimp
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped chives
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dry dillweed
2 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons capers
2 pounds shelled, cooked shrimp
Combine oil, lime juice, vinegar, chives, salt, dill, pepper sauce, and capers!. Add shrimp and toss!. Chill at least 4 hours, stirring pickled shrimp occasionally!. Drain and serve pickled shrimp with decorative toothpicks!.

Stuffed Mushrooms
Cook 8oz!. of sage sausage, drain, crumble!. Mix with 8oz!. of cream cheese, 1 tsp of Greek Seasoning!. Destem mushrooms and stuff with sausage/cream cheese mixture!. Bake at 375 for 15 to 20 minutes until mushrooms are done and cheese is melted!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try taking won ton wrappers, spray a 12 count muffin tin & line every other hole with a wrapper pressed down into it!. Fill it with taco meat filling, salsa, peppers or what ever you like, top with cheese & bake until browned!.

Or boursin cheese with sliced baguette!.

Boursin Cheese (Homemade)

3 cups (approximately) (change servings and units)


Ingredients

* 2 garlic cloves
* 8 ounces butter, at room temperature
* 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
* 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (the real stuff, and freshly-grated)
* 1 tablespoon fresh dill, minced or 1 teaspoon dried dill weed, crumbled
* 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
* 1/2 teaspoon basil
* 1/2 teaspoon chives
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (herbs crumbled)
* 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crumbled
* 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Directions

1!. Have cheeses and butter at room temperature!.
2!. Crush garlic!.
3!. Mix cheeses, butter and garlic!.
4!. Add remaining ingredients, mix well!.
5!. Pack into a container just large enough to hold the boursin and store in refrigerator!.
6!. To serve, bring to room temperature!.
7!.Serve with crackers!.

buy a bag of prepped fresh spinach!. then set ou a large bowl of spincah surronded by small bowls with; raw peanuts, sliced green onions, crushed sliced lemongrass, asian dried shrimp, toasted fresh coconut chunks[small pieces], thai peppers sliced up really fine, sesame seeds!. And a bowl of sweet thai dipping sauce!.!.!.you have to find your own recipe!.!.!.hold a spinach leaf in one hand, put fillers on them, a half tsp of suace and think tiny taco!.!.!.eat, enjoy, repeat as needed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take some water chestnuts
roll each one in a slice of uncooked bacon
roll the chestnut in bacon in brown sugar
place a toothpick through the brown sugar covered bacon wrapped water chestnut
place in the oven on 350 for 15-20 min (maybe a little longer)

Buy those frozen little tart shells, fill each with half a mozzarella ball, some pesto and some roasted tomatoes (can buy from a market salad bar - wegmans, whole foods)!.!. bake it in the oven just until the cheese melts!. these were a HUGE hit!Www@FoodAQ@Com
