I would like to have a beer tasting party for my husband?!
My husband's birthday is in a few weeks!. I would like to put together a small party with a beer theme, and was thinking about beer tasting!. He has recently discovered a liquor store near us that carries beer from 30+ countries and they sell individual bottles!.
My gift to him is going to be a small wine refrigerator (with a glass door) for beer and I am going to put a few bottles from different places in it and ask guests to bring a bottle for the fridge as a gift!.
Most of the guests will not know one another, so I'd like to have at least one activity!. I was thinking darts!. Any other ideas!?
Any leads on how to have a beer tasting for the novice!? I looked around and some of the sites made it seem so complicated!.
Any other ideas to make it a nice night!? If it is clear, I'll have a fire in the pit out back, too!.
Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Great gift idea, and thoughtful, if your H is a beer lover!. (Mine is!.)
For getting the guests together you could have them pair for the tasting part and get everyone involved in comparing notes!. If it is anything like a wine tasting party, folks will be eager to share their impressions of the brews with one another!.
The only thing I would suggest is to have some wine or other beverage available for those who don't like beer!. (Personally, I'd rather floss a porcupine than drink beer!.)
Try this web page with information about how to taste beer--it sounds a lot like wine tasting, actually, and not that complicated!. You could make a form on your computer and print it off for folks to keep notes, if you're really into it!.

Darts is a good idea, especially if you have some British beers to sample!. also, there are several beer quizzes on-line that you might want to use to amuse your guests!.
You might want to have some snacks around that are traditionally served with beer, like beer nuts and pretzels, and there are some foods that are made with beer, too!. Here's a good place for recipes:
