Two cakes ideas:

FIRST:
make a white cake. poke holes in it with a fork or toothpick. Cook instant jello (I like strawberry, but whatever flavor is fine). Pour the jello over the cake. The holes you made help it work it's way into the cake. Refridgerate a few hours till the jello sets. Frost with Cool Whip. Top with fruit (I like sliced strawberries to go with the strawberry jello). Keep refridgerated and loosely covered.
This recipe does not make a soggy cake. It will only be soggy if you try to eat it before the jello sets. It's a great treat especially in the summer months too.

SECOND:
This is a bunny face with a bowtie and ears. Bake two cake rounds (any flavor). I use two 9" pans and cake from a box. Remove the cake from the pans carefully (make sure you really grease the pan sides to make this step easier). Once cool, pland one round on a large pan, this is the face. Cut the second round so that the middle piece is shaped like a bowtie and two other pieces are long oval-type shapes. Place the bowtie piece next to the round near the bottom, and the two long peices as bunny ears. Frost with white frosting. Sprinkle shredded coconut over the entire thing to look like fur. Use licorice strings, jelly beans, etc to decorate the face. See the article below for better directions.

oreo cake!!!!

you take 2 bags of oreos and scrape off the icing and just use the cookie and a carton of cream it comes in a milk carton and you have to whip it thick. and you put the cream on the cookie part and then a slice of fresh strawberry then cream then another cookie then strawberry and make a circle going in that orderfilling in the circle with cookies and cream and strawberries, then start another circle on top of the other circle and so on untill you get the desired height of cake you want then finish off by covering with the rest of the cream and strawberries on top and then put in fridge overnight and the cookie softens with the cream and it turns into cake and its soooooooooo good!!!
try it! if you like oreos :)

Since she's one, cupcakes would be a great idea. She gets her own special cake, you can decorate it any way you'd like and storing the left-over cupcakes is easier than a big cake. You can draw an Elmo face or any other character on it that she will recognize.
