Question: Food ideas for scrapbooking party!?
I am hosting a "memories" party and would like to serve a dinner for my guests!. I will be having over 20 people and am on a tight budget, but still want to make things nice for everyone attending!. Any ideas on foods to serve that are simple and cost-effective, yet will still taste delicious!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

As an avid cropper and professional caterer, I have to recommend two things: Serve something that can be eaten with one hand and that is not overly moist or sticky!.

A sandwich platter is good-premake the sandwiches so people can pick them off the platter and take directly to mouth with one hand if the other hand is busy working with scrap stuff!. also, this way you won't have to worry about the mess of dripped condiments, leftover piles of lettuce picky eaters didn't use, etc!.

Another idea is to make a platter of quesadillas!. They are super easy to make in the George Forman grill-just use a large tortilla and add a handful of ingredients (make these in advance and no one has to know the extent to which you skimped on the expensive ingredients-just use plenty of cheese and people will be satisfied)!. 1 chicken breast stretches with cheese and veggies to make at least 4-5 quesadillas!. Fold your tortilla in half and close the grill!. Serve with salsa and sour cream!. Very cheap!

EDIT: It's important to serve something that can be eaten while you work (vs eating dinner first and then starting scrapbooking) b/c you will want every spare minute that night to work on your pages!.!.!.scrapbooking is time intensive and moments set aside to crop are precious!. Go for a variety of finger foods!.

These are easy to make and yet very reasonable in cost!.

Ham rollups
1 pk of cream cheese
pickles chopped
sliced ham
mix cream cheese and some pickles together until spreadable
then spread a layer onto one slice of ham then roll the ham up and cut into inch size bites!. continue until you have the desired amount!.

Tortilla rollups
1 pk of cream cheese
1 small jar salsa
1 pk of tortilla wraps
mix cream cheese and salsa together until spreadable, spread a layer onto on tortilla wrap!. roll the tortilla wrap and cut into 1 inch bite size pieces!. continue until you have the desired amount!.

Vegtable tray with dip

a couple different kinds of chips, crackers, pretzels

Then make a punch or serve coffee and pop

Great for any occassion!. :)

Cocktails, Orange Punch:
Cut 10 oranges in 1/2 scoop out the middle and put the pulp in the blender with ice, pour it into a punch cowl with O J & vodka or serve vodka on the side !.!. or use sangria and toss your frosty pulp in !.!. $4 + ice, + vodka

Well, when you serve salad, the lettuce is cheap enough !.!. so add a slice of red or yellow pepper, a quarter of a tomato !.!. $6 pretty, & cheap !.!.!. but when you throw on a few 'good quality' olives and a small hunk of quality cheese it rocks !.!.!. $ 8 and cheaply!. $14!.00 20 pple!.

For that many, I would give two options for entree!. Mock lazagna:
Ricotta and egg, parsley, garlic, salt, mixed with cooked ziti, a little sauce in a 9x12 put the pasta mix in !.!. cover with sauce and baked for 1/2 hour!. $7-12 to serve 10 ppl!. depending on if you throw mozzarella in there!. $14-20
serve zuchini and baby carrots on the side for another $5!.00

For desert, put 1 scoop of vailla ice cream in each of the orange 1/2's!. Use your cheese shredder to shred a Hersey bar over the top!. $4
