What are you having for Christmas dinner?!

Question:

What are you having for Christmas dinner?

So, my husband and I are on our own for Christmas this year. I think that my sister might come over for dessert, but I have that covered. Anywho, I want to make dinner special for us because it is our first married Christmas. I am at a loss about what to make since it is only the two of us (I don't want to make a giant ham or turkey, etc). Any ideas for a special Christmas menu?

I have a recipe for Christmas dinner for two, basically instead of the whole bird, you buy a large turkey drumstick. You remove the bone from the inside and stuff it with your favorite stuffing. Close it up and wrap it with a few slices of bacon (this makes it nice and crispy and flavourful once it's roasted!) and then you roast it like you would a turkey, only not as long of course! Just keep an eye on the temperature and you'll know when it's done. Serve it with some roast potato wedges, and veggies, and there ya go! Just add an entrée if you want and maybe a salad.

As for my family, I'm hosting dinner this year, it'll be us, the inlaws AND my mum sister...we're having french onion soup au gratin, a salmon mousse terrine, and a stuffed crown roast of pork along with a potato soufflé and veggie sides. Then salad, a cheese plate, and finally dessert. I think it's a white chocolate mousse cake with raspberries in it - my hubby's a pastry chef!

I think fish would be a great idea.
You could get salmon or seabream or perch and simmer it in a nice white wine, butter and saffron sauce.
Serve rice and vegetables with it......

Or cook the fish in a butter, garlic and lemon sauce and serve it with garlic potatoes and a green salad with roasted pine nuts.

Serve either dish with a nice Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay.

And for dessert have cranberries or strawberries or mango or any fruit you like basically, with a nice mousse au chocolat.

All not difficult to make, rather special and not too expensive. :)

Prime Rib
Holiday Potatoes
Asparagus Roll-Ups
Crunchy Green Bean Casserole
Icelandic Christmas Cake
