Need fun ideas for a party, please?
Party will be for 51st surprise birthday. I don't know most of her friends. Small budget. Please give ideas beyond cake and candles... and no costumes. Party will be held on weekend after Christmas so I am guessing most people will be on a tight budget who attend too.

Everyone there will have the honoree in common - try some easy little games that will get people talking and reminiscing. Ideas:
Trivia questions about the honoree - small prizes for correct answers. What is his/her favorite color, middle name, first car, wedding date, favorite snack food, etc???
Post pictures from all stages of the person's life all over the place, and have people guess the year it was taken, and/or what was the occasion. You could number the photos and have a cheat sheet or do it as another contest.
Have a sign-in poster where folks can write their good wishes. It can then be framed and hung as a nice remembrance.
