Fruit

chips and beer.

make it colorful by arranging the plate with,

and ripe cantaloupe on the side.

Angel cake

I did a:
-fruit platter[cherries and mandarins are traditional]

-vegetable platter[green/red peppers sliced-seasonal]

-meat platter[must have turkey]

-sandwich platter

-dessert platter[sugar cookies, gingerbread men or white sugared balls]
and assorted salads
a few hot dishes are nice too.
casseroles or mild meatballs in the crockpot[warming]
the club sandwich looks really nice
try:
first layer- lettuce
second layer-'turkey' and bacon
third layer- tomato and mayo
dont forget the super long 'obvious seeing' toothpicks

potato salad, pasta salad, chips, soda or make a sparkling non-alcoholic punch, fruit

chips dip pickle

Go For something flashy- since you have deli sandwiches, those are pretty understated. I suggest a very bright salad or side dishes. You can also get an assortment of individually wrapped gourmet chocolates (like Lindt) and use them as table decorations.

Go for a pasta salad with red, yellow, and green peppers. Just make pasta, add chopped veggies, olives, cheese and italian dressing. It's really pretty.

You can also do a pretty fruit assortment- especially citrus, a traditional Christmas fruit.

I'd go for a bright drink like pink lemonade, Cranberry Gingerale, etc.

Possibilities are endless. Just don't put out a bowl of chips and a plate of cookies. Boring!

Hummous or Taramasalata with crispy bread

Pasta salad, cole slaw, potato salad, fruits, veggies, baked beans
