What veggie goes with steak and potato dinner best?!

Question:

What veggie goes with steak and potato dinner best?

We have decided to have steaks for our Christmas Eve meal. We can't decide on what veggie to have to go with it. What do you think?

Answers:
Corn.... corn can go either way... sweet or regular... can go wrong with corn :)

spinach is my choice, and Popeye's of course

green beans

I like tomatoes(roasted).

mmm carrots

broccoli and small cooked carrots.

We prefer steamed broccoli and baby carrots.

broccoli deffinetly broccoli unless you don't like that then salad or maybe green beans

i think buttered string beans, corn kernels and diced carrots would be great to go with it, you can also add garlic - brocolli for more color, texture and taste.

i think it is great that you are putting importance on getting veggies in the meal.

Steak and potato's should have a nice salad setting along side of them.

I like carrots with steak.
There are tons of great recipes for glazed carrots if you want something a little fancier since it's for Christmas!

The only answer to this question is to have Mushrooms--and some broccoli.

green veggies and carrots

Asparagus. Either wrapped in bacon and grilled or steamed and dripping with butter and italian dressing from a cruette. YUM!

Corn on the cob

smoked carrots and spinach

corn on the cob
green beans

Some nice sauteed onions and mushrooms on top of your steaks and broccoli or cauliflower with a nice cheese sauce....What time's dinner??? lol

Steamed asparagus with lemon butter, creamed corn, steamed snow peas, creamed spinach. Any of those would be good.

Steamed broccoli topped wiht either Lemon butter (lemon zest & lemmon pepper added to a stick of melted after you have clerified it)

Or topped with seasoned bread crums & a bit of butter

Or Asparagus with lemmon butter or holinaise sauce.

roasted carrots...yum!

rice beans

Broccoli is always good. You can have it steamed, buttered or in a cheese sauce depending on what you like.

I would do a salad w/ fresh spring mix greens, dried cranberries,
candied pecans, and crumbled blue cheese. Serve with a raspberry vingearette dressing. This will give your dinner a xmas feel while waking the taste buds.

with steak, i marinate cut up zuchini, yellow squach, peppers, onion, and mushroom in balsamic vinagerette dressing and then grill them (in a basket) right along side the steak.
