Baking Dishes???
My cookie sheets and cake pans, have rust and discolored stains on them. How do I get rid of them? I am having a baking party for xmas and don't want to use them if I can't get them clean.
They are metal.

They are fairly new I have only used them once or twice, then they turn this way.

Scrub with wire soap pad and rinse well, then always dry thoroughly before storing.
If they are rusty I would not use them. In a pinch you can always line with aluminum foil though.
Scrub with steel wool.
Don't wash them in the dishwasher. Wash them with some soap and scrub with steel wool, dry in the oven to prevent rust from forming again. Use parchment paper to line them in the future.
i always like to line my cookie sheets with aluminum foil but if you want them cleaned instead you can use a mr. clean magic eraser. they're way more gentle on your hands and clean anything off of anything
if u must use these pans line with foil good heavy duty foil and next time invest in some glass cookie sheets and cake pans they r more expensive but you will not have this problem, and if you want to keep using metal u must purchase the expensive kind
if they are rusted, i would not use them. You can get inexpensive ones at Target. In the future, don't wash in the dishwasher. Just wash by hand with mild detergent and a soft cloth. Hand dry immediately.

Although the pans of your party members are probably in the same shape.
Either use this party as opportunity show your disgust that " these pans don't last as long as they used to", and show your resolve to get through this temporary situation. (Of course make sure you scrub them or steel wool them as best you can before the party.)
OR
Dump them and get new pans -- 'Tis the season anyway.
