Cocktail Reception in New York City?
I would like to have a small elegant cocktail reception after my ceremony. I am looking for an intimate, classy venue either in NYC or the surrounding boroughs. Any suggestions would be a HUGE help.

I presume you're getting married on a Saturday? This makes the financial district really perfect, as it's almost empty at that time. I would talk to the owner of P J Clarke's, which is located in one of the new Trade Center buildings. It's a gorgeous building and P J Clarke's might be available for the reception, or might be able to set you up with an owner of one of several restaurants there. These places are EMPTY on weekends because it's such a weekday kind of area of town.
