Answers:
Does it have to be a holiday theme? You have some ethnic themes in there... maybe Hawaiian or Japanese, Chinese or Southern (comfort food + iced tea?), Tea party...

French

Chinese

Japanese

Spanish (it is very different from Mexican)

what does sunday have to do with it?

How about seafood?

I love doing parties where the theme is a color or a color scheme. Pick your favorite 1-5 colors, and everyone has to wear one or all of those colors, plus bring a food dish that matches as well. Not only will you get creative outfits and dishes, but your home will look wonderful and colorful! My advice for this time of year would be to choose holiday colors: red, green, silver, gold, black, and/or white. Red and green give your friends plenty of options for foods, and the black and white give plenty of options for attire.

Another suggestion is to go to the Food network website and run some recipe searches by ingredient. You'll end up inadvertently finding some themes that way too.

Good luck!

last month- christmas dinner ??? isn't it still December??

what holiday is coming up that you are having another holiday party on a sunday besides new year's eve?

you don't necessarily have to have the theme as the food type
you could have poker night and all the food be finger food to eat while playing cards

you could have a luau

Elegant hors de ouvrers. This is a season where people eat too much, so new years eve might be a good time for cute finger food and sparkling wine. Good new years eve colors are gold, silver, or white. Make believe you are in a New York loft. Blow up white silver and gold balloons and let their tassel's hang from the ceiling. You can cut a city scape out of black paper and put it behind your buffet table. Make sure your table-scape is on multiple levels and have everybody wear something shiny. It's a good time for various kinds of martinis.
