Answers:
prepare the following the day befor, then assemble 10 minutes before leaving. After preperation, store components in airtight containers, and fridge(if suitable place)

Thinly (1/2 cm) sliced french bread. spread with garlic butter, bake in medium hot oven until crisp, cool, and store
Packet of small crakers (such as ritz)

Toppings.
Packet of pate ( to spread on bases)

Thily sliced smoked salmon. Lat a piece out, spreead with cream chees, roll up like a swiss roll, cut into 1cm slices, store in fridge, use one or two per canape

Can of tuna, mixed with mayonaise, and ready cooked sweetcorn, stor in fridge

Egg mayonaise pre made

Hamm slices prepared as the smoked salmon

finely grated cheese, bound with mayonaise or ketchup

prepare thin slices of tomatoe, and cucumber in advance to garnich all canapes

Hopr this gives you a few ideas. You dont need to make them all.

Happy party

If you have a Costco card go get a jar of their marinated sundried tomatoes. I have a stick (Immersion) blender that I use to mix this with sour cream. It makes a great dip for Costco's Pita chips and it can stay in the fridge for 3-4 days. I make this for Christmas eve and it is always a hit. I add some fresh garlic to the dip too.

at costco they have texas toast, its like 6 or 12 dollars and kids love it too if there will be kids (texas toast is garlic bread!!!)

I have answered hundreds of these questions. Anyway, you don't need to go all out for a get together. Have subs, cakes, pies, punch, chicken nuggets, small ribs, chicken wings, and a party is not a party without games.

go onto www.yummyfood.net and search under appetizers. they have loads of ideas and they all work really well - as opposed to random recipes you might get on here.

You can make mini tomato mozzerella and basil on cocktail sticks. Nice home-made sausage rolls. little smoked salmon cream cheese rolls.
these will all keep well in the fridge overnight!

If you are havng a party with adults mostly or where you might want to impress someone with something that is easy to make try these...

Get a pound or two of some small potatoes. the mini kind--red potatoes are good. Fill a pan with enough water to completely immerse the potatoes. Use a fork to prick all the potatoes to cook faster. Boil potatoes until done---the time depends on how many you cook. Best way to know when done is just stick a fork in one and if it cleanily slides in and out then it is done. Remove from flame. Drain water. Rinse with cold water. Set aside until cool enough to touch but not cold. Cut each potato on the bottom just enough to make a flat surface so you can place them on a tray later without them falling over.

Next, cut potato on the top a little bit and scoop out some of the potaoto until you get halfway down the potato, this is to make room for the sour cream which is next. This is trial and error you may mess up one or two but just eat those and try again. Once you have scooped out about half of the insides set aside and do the rest of the potatoes the same way. Once all done take a spoon and fill the potatoes with sour cream and place on a tray in the fridge. On the day of the party top off the potato and sour cream appetizers with a tiny dollop of black or red caviar. Best you do this about an hour before the party.

Place tray out for people to pick up and pop in their mouth. It is surprisingly easy and good and some people think classy because of the caviar. Which is actually kinda cheap at around 6 bucks for a small jar at a good grocery store. Impressive, tasty and idiot proof---my favorite kind of appetizer. Also caviar goes great with Champagne during New Years festivities.

go to asda and buy ready made its so much easier,im just doing there cheese and onion bites now for a party later(if thers any left)

I've just cut crosses in the bottom of some lovely cherry tomatoes, popped them in a tupperware box and then poured over a mixture of vidka, worcestershire sauce, sherry (I had no sherry so used vermouth) celery salt and tabasco. they will marinate overnight and tomorrow will be quite potent but all good fun for a new years eve canape!

Its a Delia Smith recipe - I cant take the credit!
