Last minute birthday party ideas!?!

Question:

Last minute birthday party ideas!?

Hello Yahoo'ers. My mother is turning 45 today and we were originally just planning a family dinner out and gifts. samo samo. Well, plans changed and we decided to have a party for her at her sisters house. We planned food, gifts, music ... But then my mom said to me that for whatever reason she is really happy about this birthday and hasn't been this happy over a birthday in a 'very long time.' She doesn't know about the party exactly, but now the pressure is on to make it really great!! The food is Mexican, and the time is only 4 hours and 20 minutes from now!!

Any ideas to make it a night to remember?

Answers:
Ok. It's Friday so it's easy to get to the store. Go buy a guest sign in book. Pass the book around at the party and ask each guest to write a nice memory they have about your mom. Give it to her at the end of the party... she'll love it!

How about a black and white dinner type thing or since you said you'll be having Mexican food make it a fiesta. Have pinatas, confetti, etc.

1.do all the stuff your going to do
2.go to your moms favorite amusement park for an hour
3.have a family talk and play board games

then your done

Go by a party shop and get a pinata (sp?) and fill with goodies. If any of your relatives have Christmas cactus and poinsettias left from the holidays get them to bring them for flowers. You could probably still find some at your grocer's florist area. Quilts or horse blankets would make great table cloths - if you do not have those get bright colors for napkins and balloons at party shop (red, yellow, orange).

Good Luck and have fun!!!!!!

~Have a moment where a few close friends and family members tell a short and sweet or funny anecdotal story with or about your Mom~Let them know ahead of time so they can reflect and prepare.

Bring a horse over for rides to match to food and don't forget to put your dog over your mom's head while she's asleep.
