On New Year's what can we do that is fun for the whole family at home?!

Question:

On New Year's what can we do that is fun for the whole family at home?

Answers:
Have a homemade balloon drop at midnight.
Line up two rectangular paper tablecloths and punch holes every 2 to 3 inches down one long side of each.

Stitch the tablecloths together with yarn, leaving a foot or so at the end for a rip cord.

Tape the cloth to the ceiling on three sides, leaving the side opposite the rip cord open. Tape the cord up separately, so it's accessible. Let the center of the cloth hang down to allow space for the balloons.

Inflate at least 75 balloons.

Buy thin streamers and metallic confetti.

Stuff the cloth with balloons, then add the confetti and streamers on top. (Reverse it, and the confetti will weigh down the cloth and filter out ahead of time.) Tape up the last side of the cloth.

Let her rip! At the stroke of midnight, just one strong pull tears through the paper, releasing a cascade of balloons and confetti!

Another idea if the kids aren't old enough to stay up till midnight: let them celebrate it in the style of a city that's a couple of time zones ahead of yours. For example, if you live in Denver, have New Year's Eve New York City style with deep dish pizza, "Big Apple Pie" and Broadway movies on TV. If you're on the east coast, celebrate a la Rio de Janiero style or maybe London or Paris.

BOARD GAMES....for some reason Monopoly never dies....it becomes a huge competition at my house!

play games. maybe board games, charades, etc. have this game where you ask everybody to write 3 things about themselves on separate ieces of paper. one true thing and two false things or vice versa. then have everybody put all those papers in a gift bag and take turns taking those papers out, reading it outloud and trying to guess who said what and what's true and what's false. make fun food and appetizers, drinks and have fun! happy new year :)

Get some easy to make appetizers at your local grocery store, or make if that is what you want to do. Have lots of games for everyone of all ages & turn on some music. Just being together as a family will be good but knowing that you are celebrating the beginning of the New year together will be the best part of the evening!!!!!

Have fun, be safe, & HAPPY NEW YEAR

we like to relax or play Scrabble or clue...

Play games, read the Holy Bible, and Pray for a wonderful new year!

Family movies you've always wanted to see; board games; card games; charades; plays the kids direct; make up stories. I'm sure you will think of something. Have another family over, that always is entertaining.

have fixings for everyone to make their own pizzas with their favorite toppings and then play games. team games are best for new years..things like pictionary, outburst, etc. where everyone can pretty much play at the same time vs. waiting for your turn...create a fun way to make new years resolutions and share them with eachother..real or whacky..then your loved ones can also try to help u to keep them too even after the party!! can do the toppings thing for ice cream sundaes for later too!
dont forget to go disposable as possible to eliminate a ton of cleanup!!

watch all those new years countdowns on tv. or play some board games, and have a few snacks at hand. hope you have fun!

We plan to stay off the roads as much as possible and have a old fashion 4th of july type grill out with filet mingon and whatever else that will be close to home...

play board games, watch a movie.

Invite over friends their age and play Scene it? with the kids and their parents. It's lots of fun and the games go quickly. Serve sparkling Apple juice to the kids and champagne to their parents.

Everyone gets in their pj's, brings down their pillow and favorite blanket to watch a special movie or two. Have finger foods so all night everyone can grab one. And at midnight everyone has a champagne glass filled with 7UP or their favorite drink.

We used to make pizzas with everyone putting the topping they like on half of one. While they baked, we played board games. When it got closer to midnight, we'd put on our jammies, get the noise makers ready, do the countdown with the TV, then throw confetti, blow the noise makers, hug and kiss each other. :)

sport fuckin'
