Question:

Good kid friendly appetizers that adult won't roll there eyes at.?

We are just having a very small get together planned somewhat last minute.. what would be fun to have? that doesn't require to much work? Thank you all.

Answers:
Ham Rolls
2 packages of Pepperidge Farm rolls (they will not taste right if you do not use Pepp. Farm)
some butter (about a stick or so)
Worcestershire sause
some poppy seeds (use good judgement)
swiss chesse (enough for two layers covering the rolls)
deli ham (same with cheese, more if you want more ham taste)

Leave rolls attached and slice in half (so you have bottoms and tops)
Melt the butter. Add a tbsp or so of worcestshire sauce and poppy seeds. Mix together really well - it will try to separate.
Spread mixture on both sides of the bread. Don't be shy.
Add one layer of cheese, then all the ham you want, and then a nother layer of cheese. Put the tops on and put in the toaster or oven enough to warm through.

These are to die for. I fix them all the time for tailgating and the adults love them just as much as the kids.

quesadias
mozzarella stix

Canape selection?

Either make or buy some blinis, or make some toast and cut into shapes, then top with a selection of... toppings. Wow, that was eloquent of me :P

Cream cheese and chive, smoked salmon and capers, ham and mustard may, quails egg and mayo etc etc.

Easy finger food and adaptable for all tastes ;)

Have a good one!

chex party mix

Carrot sticks but hold the dressing or celery with squeeze cheeze in the slot.

I don't know your personal taste so I would suggest that you check out www.kraftfoods.com. It has many recipes that are kid friendly, easy to make and inexpensive.
Also check Family Fun magizines web-site.
I hope you have a wonderful time.
Happy Holidays!

My nieces just LOVE olives. Cheese platter with crackers and firm fruit such as apples and pears.

Hot Crab dip with bread/crackers is always a hit here.

Spicy Maryland Crab Dip
A delicious hot crab and cheese dip that comes straight from the heart of the Chesapeake Bay! Serve with crackers or a warm baguette.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 Tbs mayonnaise
1 1/2 Tbs lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
garlic powder to taste
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 lb fresh crabmeat
3 dashes hot sauce
Old Bay, to taste

1 Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 1 quart baking dish.
2 In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, garlic powder and about 2 tablespoons of the Cheddar cheese. Fold in crabmeat, hot sauce and 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning.
3 Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining Cheddar cheese and seafood seasoning. Bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly browned.

Gotta' have the fruit
thin sliced apples, pears, {banana chunks, chop and leave skin on /about 2 or 3" big}

Most kids love.........sliced fresh Delmonte Gold pineapple (it is always sweet)

maybe even some mini baby carrots

cheese chunks/some type of cracker

My son is six, and when he has a friend over for lunch, I always make a fruit plate that is turned into a monster face. You can use any variety of fruits for this, just cut it to the shapes. Don't forget something sliced thinly for hair. They LOVE it, and eat it up quickly. Their favorite part is saying what body part they are about to eat. If the kids are older though, I don't know if they'd like it.

Something else my kids love is when I open a bunch of those little snack size bags of chip type things that you find in the bulk section of the grocery store, and dump them in a big bowl. I usually use the Smartfood popcorn, pretzels, crunchy Cheetos, and add some Cheez-it crackers or goldfish crackers. It's kind of like a Chex mix for kids. You can add anything - tortilla chips, raisins, any small thing that you have in the cupboard already.

Have fun!!

pigs in a blanket, chicken cubes with cheese, mini burgers, chicken fingers with dipping sauces, potato skins

Most kids are pretty picky. I know I was as a kid. My favorite appetizers from that age were eggrolls, chicken tenders with bbq dipping sauce, cheese trays, quesadillas, etc. You could also do bite size pizzas (either order pizza and slice it yourself or get Stouffer's french bread pizza and cut it into bite size slices). Kids are not going to touch seafood dip, pimiento olives, worsteshire sauce, etc.

You can pick up alot of that stuff from the deli or the frozen section of Costco/Sam's. Grocery stores even have small boxes of frozen appetizers that you just heat and serve.

jumbo shrimp & shrimp sauce! everybody loves it. its a finger food, but seafood so it feels fancy ?
