Would this be OK to do for Thanksgiving?!

Question: Would this be OK to do for Thanksgiving!?
I am cooking Thanksgiving for the first time this year for approx 10 people!. My son has a 4 hour basketball scrimmage that I want to watch!. Would it be OK to cook all the sides and things the day before and just cook the turkey that day!? And how long would I warm up everything else!? Thanks, Happy ThanksgivingWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Pumpkin pie: tastes better cold, in my opinion!.
Mashed potatoes: easy to reheat the next day, just in a skillet, or in the microwave, or the oven!. If you're making them from flakes, then I'd just prepare them that day, since it's fast!.
Gravy: make that day!. If it's from the turkey drippings, you'll need those, if it's from a packet or jar, it's fast anyway!.
Sweet potato casserole: easy to reheat, I'd put it in the oven on a low temp!. until it's warmed through!. If the oven is going to be unavailable because of the bird, you could put it in the microwave for a few minutes!. I would use a lower power setting and longer time if in doubt!.
Green bean casserole: if you make it ahead, don't put the onions on top, they'll get soggy!. Make ahead and refrigerate, but don't bake the day before!. Follow the baking instructions on the day you'll serve!.
Rolls: If you buy ready made ones, they don't really require anything!.
Cranberry sauce: not really anything involved there
Stuffing/Dressing: If you're making it in the bird, you'll have to do it that day!. In a pan, you can cook it the day before, and then warm it through in the oven on low heat, like the sweet potatoes!. I'd do this one in the oven, in the microwave it may get soggy!. Or you could probably warm it on the stovetop, just in a skillet (non-stick, or use some oil/butter)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any sides that are not vegetables would be great to prepare in advance!. Veggie dishes should always be made fresh!.!.!.! When you re-warm, take the sides out 1 hour before heating in the oven, so it heats easier and more thorough!. Put the sides in pans that can stack in the oven so when you re-warm everything, it all fits in the oven!.

also, it's a good idea to add a few drops of water into each pan and cover when re-warming to help put moisture back into the food!.

Enjoy the game!

Put all the sides that need to be warmed in heat proof (oven safe) dishes!. Heat the oven to 350!. Put a pat of butter on the items that use it (beans, potatoes etc!.) have removable lids on all items!. Place items in oven!. The denser the item the longer it will take to heat!. Start using the tip of your finger to feel items at about 15 mins!. check every 10 there after!. Give items a stir to heat through!. Sounds more complicated than it is!. Don't forget them though!. Nothing sadder than dried up food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!. i think that would be okay, i dont see what's so wrong with cooking the side dishes before!. plus, if you cooked the turkey and the side dishes all in one day, than you would have to make everyone wait even longer for their meals when they are hungry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well yeah it would be ok to do that because when you do, it would taste just as good!. because my grandmother does the same thing!. Happy Thanksgiving!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

what cha making !? pies, baked beans can always be done the day before, is how i do it!.!. and reheat beans in micro about 10 mins!. or more!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
