Wine and all other beverages are presented and poured from the right. This is a logical, since glasses are placed above and to the right of the guest's plate, and trying to pour from the left would force the server to reach in front of the guest

I don't know where LMJ got his food service education or training But if you served food from the right at any of the places I've worked or attended school , you would be quickly reprimanded.
The proper way is to serve food from the left with the left hand. Place the protein-aka the expensive item - at the 6:00 o'clock position on the plate facing the guest.
The oldest woman gets served first and then the rest of the women in a decreasing order of age. The same pattern applies to men.
Tables are cleared from the right with right
