Bowling is the way to go. You can call a couple of your local bowling alleys to compare prices. We just went to a relatives party and she brought pizza and soda, chips, pretzels, and cupcakes and got a group rate. It was very affordable and the kids had a great time.

Don't know what your budget is but if you live in bergen county nj you probably got some money. How about looking around for a local indoor entertainment center which caters to kids? Pick something with batting cages, basketball or soccer courts. Probably will have a gameroom too included in the party package.
It wouldn't be that pricey....maybe 11-17 bucks per kid. Gymnastic schools do parties too. Hope your boy has a great birthday.
