Is whiskey the same as bourbon?!
I'm going to make a pecan pie, and it calls for bourbon, and all I have is Jack Daniels whiskey!. Will this give me the same result, or do I need to go get Bourbon!?

history lesson: in order for bourbon to be called bourbon it has to come from bourbon,Kentucky!. if it doesnt come from that region it cant be called bourbon!. jack daniels doesnt come from that region so it cant call itself bourbon!. so it calls itself Tennessee whiskey instead, but its actually bourbon!.

Jack Daniels will do just fine!. Bourbon usually indicates the whiskey was made in Kentucky!. The name comes from Bourbon County, Kentucky where it was first created!. They each taste a little different and if you are being a snob about the flavor of the pie It will taste a little different if you have had the recipe before but not so that most folks can tell!.

Bourbon is smoother then whiskey, and the Alcohol will cook out faster, with the higher sugar content!. Use Bourbon unless you want the pie to taste like booze!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
