well, i just made turkey dinner for my in-laws and have several times before!.

I made Turkey,( i would get a 12 pounder is i was you) and stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli, green beans, cranberry sauce, and homemade bread!.

Stuffing: Ground Pork, Stuffing croutons, Celery, Onions, salt, pepper, sage, savory, poultry seasoning, egg, and turkey stock

Boil the giblets/neck with celery and onions to make turkey stock!.
Meanwhile, brown pork sausage ( i use sage ground pork sausage)!.
Mix pork, croutons, egg together!. Then add turkey stock until croutons are soft, but not mushy!. Season with salt, pepper, sage, savory, and poultry seasoning until it tastes good!. (the hot stock will cook the egg enough to where it won't be harmful)

Stuff the turkey in all cavities, tie up or tuck!. Butter the turkey and bake!. (325 about 3-3!.75 hrs or until temp is 165)

Boil potatoes!. When mixing them, add salt and pepper, cream (this makes it richer and more delicious than just milk) and butter!.

You could make any veg!. that you wanted!. Canned or Fresh!. also, you could buy pillsbury (or other brand) dough for rolls to make or just buy fresh bread from a local bakery and reheat in the oven to have warm bread!.

Cranberry sauce is easy too!. 2cups water, 2 cups sugar, 1LB cranberries!. Boil sugar and water, add cranberries!. cook until cranberries pop and starts to thicken!.

Gravy: mix flour and water together (in a shaker works best) add to drippings left behind by the turkey and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until combined!. then just keep an eye on it so that it thickens but doesn't get lumpy!.

The point of Thanksgiving is gathering with friends and/or family to share a meal and remind ourselves what we are grateful to have in out lives!.

Rather than stress over traditional recipes, particularly if ingredients aren't readily available, start new traditions! Ask each guest to contribute a dish!. Single men can bring wine or dinner rolls!.

If you are making a turkey dinner, get the smallest bird that will feed all your guests!. The bigger the bird, the more likely it will be dry!. Figure on 1!.5 pounds per person - I'd go for a 10-12 pounder!. Don't forget to remove the package of giblets from the cavity before you stuff or roast it!.

Been there!. Done that!. I was overseas in Greece and with a T-day dinner to cook!.

Main thing - keep it simple!. Don't try to make every single fabulous holiday dish!. Just pick a few and do those!.

Do some make ahead dishes!. Most can be done ahead!. I linked Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes!. That saves a lot of time, and they are very good!.

Add some cold salads like Broccoli Salad or any favorite!.

Do the desserts ahead!.

If anyone offers to bring something, take them up on it!. Even ice in a cooler or the drinks can be a big help!.

Main thing!. Relax!. The whole idea is to have fun!. If something does not turn out perfect, that's OK!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your uncomfortable with baking a Turkey they have ones that are in a bag and all you have to do is put it in the oven per directions on the back!. That way you don't have to season it or check on and baste it!.

also buy some already made store bought items like the pies, rolls, cranberry sauce, even stove top dressing!.

If you go to Campbells!.com you can find the recipe for green bean casserole!.

I hope your dinner is a sucessful one! And have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com
