If you're in Austria, you're likely a short train ride from Munich, which is where the big Oktoberfest party is.
Timing: 2007: Sept. 22 - Oct. 7 (16 days)
There will likely be Oktoberfest parties in Austria too around that time, but nothing drunk, fun & sloppy like Munich ;-)
There's also a huge beer party in the spring in Erlangen, a university town near Nuremberg, Germany.
