Aussie food ideas for Australia Day?!

Question:

Aussie food ideas for Australia Day?

I am having an Australia Day Party (combined with Triple J Hottest 100 party). To celebrate, we will be having a BBQ, finger foods and dessert. I want to make heaps of Aussie food. I will have the usual - vegemite sandwiches, pavolva, lamingtons etc. Does anyone have anymore ideas of yummy Aussie foods?

I don't want to spend too much money or spend hours in the kitchen.

Thanks

True Aussie spirit to cut done on your work, ask everyone to bring a plate of their favorite Aussie food. My family thinks fairy bread( hundreds and thousands on buttered bread) is an Aussie must at all major events. We even had requests at a 21st !!! Its the people not the food that make a great party, so just have great friends and relax and enjoy.

bbq snags and prawns the typical aussie day feed.

Trifle, meat pies, tomato sauce( the b/f wants VB)BBQ snags & chops.

Just checked out that sight that was suggested, nice recipes the damper might be a good(cheap too).
Any way from one Aussie to another have a good one.

Honestly, I have been to Australia and they don't really have true 'staple' foods (like America has hot dogs, apple pie, etc.). BTW, the whole shrimp on the barbie thing is a myth. The main thing I did see was a lot of wines, fruity variations, fruit, and seafood.

Almost every place I went had fish and chips, which is really easy and quick to make. This website should help:

Don't forget Damper, you can buy or make it yourself.
I saw on TV not so long ago that Pavlova is actually a New Zealand dessert, we just seem to have taken it on as ours.
'ave a good one mate!

meat pie is a must, but if you don't want to go through the trouble just make savoury mince:
cook mince with onions, salt pepper- when cooked add gravy and a can of peas ( corn, diced carrot if you like too)
Keep warm in electric frypan and serve with bread, people will just make their own sandwiches and don't forget the tomato sauce.

My Austrailian friend loves Vegemite sandwiches. Personally, I don't but apparently it's quite common. So butter and Vegemite on bread.
