Canned biscuits....?!

Question:

Canned biscuits....?

Ok....I have this problem. Opening a can of biscuits scares the crap out of me. I just can't do it. I am so terrified of the "pop" that it makes. I have literally ran and hid from someone chasing me with them threatening to open them and I was on the edge about to cry. Is there something I can do to make this better?

Answers:
What you can do is wrap the can with a tea towel or a kitchen towel and then whack it on the side like would normally do.

The towel will muffle the pop and contain the canister.
Just unwrap the towel and bake normally.

Im scared of that too. So I started making home made biscuits lol I know, I'm a dork.

I aways jump but it can't hurt you, so keep cookin' them biscuits

It can't hurt you--it's just cardboard. Only the ends are metal, and they're not even sharp. It's much safer than opening a can, even one with a pull-tab lid. They also don't explode--just a little dough leaks out the side when you pull back the cardboard.

If you're scared of whomp biscuits, why not use Bisquik and make fresh ones? :)

See a professional.

Your scared of loud noises. Get yourself used to the loud noise and then you will probably get used to the popping sound that it makes.... but don't give up... keep on making those biscuits.

i run a butter knife around the seam or take a sharp knife and cut into the paper next to the round metal part to let the pressure off then stick a butter knife in the seam and pop it open

Mmmm....biscuits...

Get counseling. Life is too short to dwell on little issues when you could be dwelling on the big ones.

Trick your self. In steam of waiting for the noise that scares you, I open the can a little than hit it on the side of the counter. That way you are inflicting the noise.

slip a spoon under the seal and it will muffle the pop sound but a good can will and should pop!

Maybe wrap them in a kitchen towel first...? Also, you might want to look into why this is such a "phobia" for you... sounds like you are a bit jumpy. Seriously, did you endure some kind of trauma when you were younger that makes you so afraid of them? Good luck.
