Help! 13th b-day party confusion!?
I turned 13 a few days ago and will be having a party this saturday.
what should i wear, what good movies can i rent, what should i do to entertain my guests?!? sorry but I'm really nervous! please give any suggestions.
do you think i'm to old to being giving out "loot bags" or gifts to my guests?
Answers:
Birthdays are very fun when casual. Mine's in winter, but one year it was very unusually warm, and we went outside and played capture the flag and freeze tag the whole time! We had a great time, and it wasn't even planned! A lot of times, no plan is the best plan of all. You have more fun that way.
wear: something comfy. something that you can run around and do stupid fun stuff xD
rent: some scary movies, some funny movies. and let your guest decide.
entertain: video games, make little tournaments, ask your friends at school what they do at parties
You could still give "loot bags" but I don't know what you would give them.
Personally, I would like to give my 13 year old a birthday party at a hotel and order pizza. Imagine no mess to clean up! Then it pretty much turns into a pool party. I would wear something nice becuase it's your birthday and you know people are going to take pictures. I don't know about a movie but at the hotel you could get a movie on the prepaid channel. I don't think the gift bags is a good idea. A little kiddish. Good luck and have fun!
Have a pajama party! Everyone wear their fave 2-pc. PJ's!
Movies to rent:
The Pacifier (Vin Diesel)
Pirates 1 or 2
Legally Blonde 1 or 2
Rocky 1 or 2
National Treasure
Cars
Monsters, Inc. or Toy Story(still cool movies!)
if the party is "pirate theamed" then its fine!
if its just a party, then i would say no!
if ur not trying to impress anyone just wear jeans and a really hott shirt.......
make sure ur comfortable though!
rent something funny and scary!
rent scary movie 4 -its really funny!
also rent the grudge or something else thats really scary!
always have food out!
make sure theres soda and pizza!
some people like to play games!
you could play truth or dare or 7th heaven-(if allowed too!)
dont keep people intertaned the whole time!
some people just want to hang out with friends and gossip about whos dating who!
people might not want to do something, dont make them!
make sure pick out the hottest music like chamillionair beyonce and alot more you see on the count down
ludacris is also a big hit!
ask your friends to bring their selection of cd's!
well play some hip hop music something clean. serve sandwiches and potato chips maybe some dip too.
as for what to wear all The guys at my grandson's 13th wore regular clothes and they played music and sang karaoke it was lots of fun and it was talked about for a long time. as for loot bag we gave them out but they had things that teenagers liked like gum and single hits DVDs cost about 99cents each. bandanna's from the dollar store and candy is cool. for a toast I bought some grape champagne about 4.99 a bottle nonalcoholic for-sure. oh ad the new fearless movie is great. we also played PlayStation games. have fun and remember you not a man yet but almost so be cool about it and have fun! don't forget to invite the ladies they like to dance!
Some movies suggestions would be
Sister Hood of the Traveling Pants
John Tucker Must Die
Mean Girls
And no I don't think you are too old to give out loot bags my niece who is 14 just went to a party that handed them out..They had lip gloss, nail polish, hand lotion and a bag of skittles in them all things that you can buy at the dollar store.
As far as what to wear it depends on if it's a sleep over or not if it is then wear some lounge pants and a t-shirt. If it's just a day party then wear jeans and a cute shirt. Just be comfy.Good Luck and Happy Birthday
Definitely hand out loot bags - just call them party favors - that's what adults call them. People always like to get a favor - so don't worry about that - just don't call them loot bags because that sounds kiddish.
As far as movies - if this is a mixed (boys & girls) party - show movies like Pirates of the Carribean, The Covenant, nothing too girly or with too much sex in it. Think adventure, comedy, sci-fi, or slightly scary.
Some old classic funny movies like "Young Frankenstein", "Space Balls", "Monty Python & the Holy Grail" are always good for a group (and a lot of people your age haven't seen them).
I would definitely have some good group games ready just in case. Also a good selection of music.
The the way - happy birthday!
plat games like, scene it or shout something that guests can easily divide into teo teams to play. Charades is another good game to play as well.
And loot bags are always nice..............party favors are a great idea as well
