Where to go out in central London? (Impossible question)?!

Question:

Where to go out in central London? (Impossible question)?

I'd like to ask the impossible...

I'm going out for a curry with about 8-12 friends for my birthday and am looking for somewhere good, but not too pricey around the covent garden, leicester sq, soho area. I'm happy to book, but would NOT like to put down a deposit.

Any ideas?

Also, where could we go afterwards for drinks that would let in a group of this size but doesn't have massively loud music and maybe... maybe have somewhere to sit??? For at least a couple of us???

Any ideas?

Thanks

I can give you an impossible answer!

Was there or is there not a place called "Greens" that has oysters, steaks, chops and the lot .... and would be good for drinks ... I saw a photograph of it some time back and it looked so solid, so traditional, and so trustworthy .. it is downtown somewhere.... ...or you could go for drinks in a winebar? Is Fino's still there? Off Barkley Square?

For curry, why not just go to an Indian restaurant? That should be fun.

Sorry if this is misleading.
