Answers:
Depends what meat you choose as to what you serve with it, but vegetablewise I would only serve what is seasonal.

Roast potatoes are a must. Get the oil really hot - preferably using oil from the roast (if you can get hold of goose fat thats best) failing that lard or olive oil. Dont put the potatoes in until the meat has been removed - turn up the heat and leave for 20 minutes. (the meat needs to rest anyway)

ALWAYS make your own gravy. Its so easy, just use the brown crusty stuff from the bottom of the roasting tin, add some flour and then some stock or wine. (If using poultry use the giblets to make a lovely stock)

Normal accompaniments for most meats are:
Beef: horseradish, English mustard and Yorkshire pudding
Pork: with crackling, sage and onion stuffing apple sauce and English mustard
Lamb: serve with rosemary (I stud the meat with sprigs of rosemary and garlic) serve with mint sauce or redcurrant jelly.
Turkey or chicken: chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon, stuffing (I like a fruity stuffing with poultry - apricots that sort of thing), bread sauce and cranberry sauce.
Goose: Stuff with apples and onions. Serve with fruity stuffing and use cider in the gravy - it cuts through the fat of the meat beautifully.

Enjoy!

I guess traditional is beef with yorkshire puddings and horseradish. But i like chicken

I like to do a roast crown of lamb with yorkshire puddings, gravy, roast potatoes, creamed potatoes and either sprouts or carrots.

Bit of mint sauce too for the lamb.

Mmmmmmm a lovely roast.

Roast Beef, Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pud, Carrots, Greens and Homemade Gravy.

I love beef roasts...and I will tell you my secret recipe. When you add all the ingredients...carrots, red skin baby potatos, onion...mmmmmmmmm....

add vernors or ginger ale instead of beef broth.

It sounds wierd but it is incredible.

Well I make potatoes, onions, mushrooms and carrots along side my roast.I do a nice salad and rolls.

Depends what meat you want to do. Trad is normally Beef and yorkshires with veg. Baked carrots are lovely with anything. slice them diagonally(quite large chunks) par boil them. then bung in oven with butter and honey and bake 4 about 20 mins. MMMM Yum. With Lamb I normally do garlic and rosemary roast pots( do them normally then chuck a bit of chopped garlic and fresh rosemary in with them while they roast. Push bit of garlic into the lamb as well, keeps it moist. Can't beat chicken and stuffing though!!! Or apple pie 4 pud!!!

Stick to the old favourites, Lamb, Beef,Chicken, Pork, or I some times do a Gammon, Goose does not have much meat on it, a nice beef rib joint is good or a wrack of lamb rolled to a crown, but that is a little bit fussy, hope all goes well, I am sure it will!

I Love lamb as my roast, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, and thick minty gravy.
before you embark on the roast just check your oven is big enough - I make that mistake quite often and to much stuff it fit in the cooker lol.

I usually cook mine along with potatoes, carrots, onions & green peppers. Put them all in the pot together with some salt, pepper & garlic. You can also pour a can of beer on it to make the meat tender & to give it some juice or add about 1-2 cups of beef boulion.

roast chicken or beef, roast potatoes and roast vegetables as well as yorkshire puddings and gravy.
sometimes sausages as well if we are feeling hungry.

We mash potatoes and usually green beans, broccoli, spinach or brussel spouts.

chicken potatoes veg

The best thing to do is cook what you are good at, that you know wil turn out really well, whether it's chicken or fish, and then you can relax. Getting stressed will spoil your meal, so just do what you enjoy and like. If his parents don't like your choice, make them some chips!! Red wine with dark meat like beef, white with chicken or fish. Hope that helps.

i love roast beef,roast potatoes,roast parsnips,mash,swede,carrots,pe... and yorkshie puddings and horseradish sauce.mmmmmmmmmm

I am doing a roast chicken today, with cabbage, carrots, peas, potatoes, roast potatoes and home made stuffing balls and home made gravy. yum yum.Cant beat it.

mmmmmmmm i tell you nice chicken with stuffing, peas, carrots, roast potatoes, and yokshire puddings with bisto gravy

I love a good roast dinner! My favourite is roast lamb - I make holes in the surface with a knife and push cloves of garlic and fresh sprigs of rosemary into them, really brings out a lovely flavour. To accompany I usually have roast potatoes (par boiled and sprinkled with flour and seasoning, jiggled around in the saucepan before putting in the oven with a light drizzling of oil), chipolatas, carrots, broccoli, green beans for my hubby and asparagus for me! It's cheating a bit but OXO do a lovely Lamb gravy - I always use double what they ay you're supposed to, to make sure it;s nice and thick though! Finish off with mint sauce - lush!!!
