What can I bring to a BBQ/Birthday?!

Question:

What can I bring to a BBQ/Birthday?

I'm invited to my co-worker/friend's birthday. She's turning 28 and she's having a BBQ with hamburgers & hot dogs. What can I bring to her as a gift or food-wise for the BBQ? I'm looking for something original... I need answers!!!
Thanks

Answers:
this may sound silly
but my friends love when i bring
napkin vases to the bbq party

go to any dollar store
buy at least 30 dish clothes
and 2 vases
roll or fold dish clothes and arrange them in the vases

make them as fancy as you want

maccoroni salad, coleslaw, meatballs, chips, cheese ball, pasta salad, veggie's and dip,

Bring my famous "firemans' secret recipe" ribs. I am not a fireman, but i stole it from one..but hes cool with it, so if you are a fireman, no disrespect...Buy a slab of ribs, chop in sets of 4, boil in water and garlic salt for about an hour. Remove, place in plastic bags and pour in the sauce- use the cheapest, least exciting bbq sauce, like "Hunts", and marinate over night. Throw on medium heat for about 25 minutes..dont burn it! Meat will fall off the bone.

What about making a taco dip? Buy taco seasoning and mix it with sour cream and cream cheese. Pour onto a plate. Layer chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce and cheese on top. Serve with taco chips. Everyone loves this dip! For a gift? No advice. Sorry

You can put together a basket with hot sauces, BBQ sauces, BBQ cookbook.

ohh! the vases are soo clever!

but if you're looking foodwise--
halushkie
or
pierogies

(YUM! they are always a hit when I bring either dish)

If a drinker bring the beer, or get her a nice bottle of Sangria always good at a BBQ

This is a very unique dessert that is perfect for a party.

If it's in season fresh corn on the cob with some seasoned butter to rub on it.

Why don't you purchase two straw cowboy hats, fill one with chips and put the bowl of dip in the other?

An edible centerpiece made from fresh fruits. I made one last summer. I used small cookie cutters to shape the flowers and made a beautiful fruit "flower" arrangement. You can also buy them: http://www.ediblearrangements.com/....

I am sure they will like it
