Question:

I'm looking to buy some champagne to complement chocolate covered strawberries.?

Any particular kind people can recommend? Thanks.

Answers:
Almond Champagne by Wilson Creek from Temecula, CA is amazing with anything chocolate! Depending where you buy it it...it's $12 to $18 a bottle.

You don't want anything sweet, stay with a dry champagne. As far as recommending one, that's hard -- it depends on what you want to spend.

Forget champagne, buy the real stuff. Buy some Freixenet, it is better than that sissy french drink.

Look for a demi-sec or cremant champagne. I wouldn't go with a brut or extra brut since the contrast is like drinking beer and eating chocolate. Ick. A slightly sweeter wine will complement the chocolate nicely.

MOET CHAN DON WHITE STAR about $80.00
PERRIER DE about $200.
And if you want to go over the top try Vintage Champagne
DON PERIGNON about $450.00
there are lots of good champagne for about 60 to 80 but I like CHAN DON WHITE STAR.
Any thing under $40. you may as wall mix wine and ginger ail .

verve cliquot is incredible and has a wonderful history of being owned and runned by the women in the family. great champagne. if you want to go cheaper, try martini asti sparkling wine.

I would suggest Verdi. It is quite affordable and the only champagne I can stand to drink.

You definitly want a dry champagne...Anything too sweetm like an Asti will just be too much for the chocolate and strawberries. A Brut is the driest champagne you can get, or you could try the next one up Extra-Dry. Korbel usually makes a good Brut.

KORBEL -
THE BEST !
