Well, if you're only serving one kind of chili, it would be faster to sell it for a set price!. If you're doing a chili cook-off, you can do it differently, but make it as easy as possible!. If you want people to come back next year, you need to feed them quickly and make it worth their $5 for their trouble!. People REALLY like it when you have a variety of toppings, such as:
Green onions
chopped white onions
cornbread
oyster crackers
saltine crackers
corn chips
cheese
sour cream
peppers
etc!.
If you have a good assortment of toppings and make it a 'chili bar', people flip out over that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I help our youth group at church with fundraisers, and it's much better to have a set price, or else you will spend extra time and labor to try to appease everyone!. I put out plenty of shredded cheese, chopped onion, hot sauce, and crackers at a self serve station!. Each bowl of chili is served with large piece of buttered cornbread, and people are welcome to come up and get more!. I also set up another table for drinks, which are included in the price, and at this table we have one person refresh the ice in a big bowl with a cup for a scoop, help little ones pour their pop, and pull out a new 2 liter when needed!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it would be better to have a set price!. People usually don't complain if the price is a little higher than at a regular eating establishment!. After all, the proceeds are going to a good cause!. If you serve dessert, it would be okay to charge an additional amount for that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
