Kids love this idea.
Throwing a party for teens is stressful, but it need not be. What teen wouldn't like to eat "tripe" or "tongue"? There is something about combining teenagers and things that are gross or daring that makes the idea of a Fear Factor party a huge success!

This type of party is so much fun not only to plan, but also compete in if you're feeling bold! First we'll talk about activities...
Got Bugs? McKandy.com has a huge selection of edible insects...
Is Fear a Factor? Head to your local butcher, though you may need to find one at a specialty market, and find some "tasty treats" enjoyed around the world: tongue, tripe, sweetbread (it is NOT as good as it sounds!), brains, and other animal organs can be eaten if cooked and prepared properly.
It Takes Guts: Put a small object in the bottom of a container filled with leftovers from the butcher, mud, or homemade slime, made by combining half white glue and half water with a little powdered borax dissolved in it.
Bloodbath: Contestants have to get into a bathtub or small pool full of "blood", which is really mostly water, with some red bath tint and a some corn syrup.
For decor you can wrap yellow "Caution" tape around everything. Add some rubber snakes, tarantulas, etc. You can get the locally or order them from Oriental Trading Company. You can also find swimming goggles for guests at their site.
Be sure and have a "host" to coordinate the events and come up with a creative Grand Prize-maybe like a custom made T-shirt or trophy. Be sure and have some great fast moving alternative or rock music to accompany the festivities! If you want to give favors you can give out some Insect Rings or Snake Pens

hav a cake

girls who are turning teenagers have definite ideas on what they want....easiest thing to do,,,,is ASK HER..
offer a "makeup party"...offer a "dance party"...make sure boys come, tho, mom....
you can play all the OLD games that you played at parties..it will re-invent the whole thing..
if DAD is home..make sure that HE is the subject of the makeup contest...(as one of the models). get a bunch of makeup...and have a contest as to who does the best job on some of the others....
switch it around...
have two or three teams...
the girls will LOVE it,,,especially if DAD is one of the ones gettin "made up"
or MOM even...
take the licks....and have fun with your daughter and her friends...
ASK her what else she wants..
make sure the grab bags have some little makeup item in them...the dollar store has ALL kinds of these items and you can have a blast with your new teenager just -picking up the stuff !!!
don't forget to ASK HER what SHE thinks....kids DO have a brain, you know..

and accually parties at home are pretty fun too

Video game, and systems (she'd love a Wii) music, ipod, cell phone, make up. party stuff. duck dance, scene it. guessing games, prizes, ice cream cake, bowling is certainly fun. Movies. Cooking party where they make cupcakes, make up parties. I find that when you have a schedual things work out better, just letting them play (especially teens) they tend to argue. So when they come in they can put the presents down and go to a game or craft table immeditely. then when everyone is there have a planned activity for all of them. Then in about 1/2 hour do something else, like have a lady from Avon come over and teach them how to put on make up. When thatn's done then the pizza should arrive, after pizza is over either go swimming, or bowling. Or have the dance dance revolution game that everyone can participate in. Even twister dvd is fun now. Then have the cake and gifts last. good luck!, and Happy Birthday to her!.

some suggestions:
a bowling party
a slumber party with movies and games
a party at Dave & Busters
a skating party

take them to a nail place for nail pedicure
