If you have a big backyard or someone you know that does. Have an outdoor bash. BBQ buffet. Always was a win for us. Have outdoor games.

The ones i went to were in small halls and restaurants. I went to two in firehouse halls. Believe it or not they're actually a good place to have a party. Don't watch that show on MTV My super sweet sixteen for ideas, lol Good Luck hope this helps

go to sales.even find coupons for food.and use gift cards from christmas to buy stuff.

invite like everyone that u dont hate, even those ppl u dont really no, and tell everyone to wear black and white, but u wear a hot pink dress (get the attention on you! its not just a party, its YOUR party). have music and dancing and all that jazz, but also do a big group scavenger hunt (rent limos if possible) its kinda lame but fun and not overdone!!

you can't

Get alot of pot...and liqiuor and a swimming pool and a nice sound system...all you need -)

Get a fun group game, such as Catch Phrase or Balderdash. A simple game like that can make for hours of fun at a party. The more the merrier!

Don't know if this is possible for you, but I gave my daughter a Sweet 16 party in our 2-car garage. I cleaned it all out and, with her help, made it into a night club--complete with smoke machine, disco ball, continuous music, 2 microphones for singing along, just a few small, cheap tables and folding chairs, loads of food and drink (sodas, water & juice), and allowed it to spill out into the yard (it was June, so warm enough), where they could play badminton or volley ball or just socialize.

The kids had a blast.

If you can't do that, have you checked with your local fire hall? Sometimes they'll allow you to rent out their social area for parties--at reasonable prices.

The only way to do a CHEAP party, regardless of big or small, is for everyone to bring a plate (not an empty one! - you know, one with food on it)
Personally I wouldn't do this with loads of mates. It will work well with family and your closest friends, but not if you want to invite every Tom Dick and Harry
Oh, and I was thinking, inexpensive as apposed to what?? I guess you could get friends and family to pitch in with cooking and cleaning (as apposed to having it catered for)
Also, do you know a DJ?? Who will give you a discount, or better yet, do the gig for free (always a nice b'day pressie) If not, don't even bother with it, make your own Cd's and save some pennys there too.
I have an idea, not to save money, but I thought Id share it anyway. Get a big canvas (well it'll depend on how many people your going to have) and have them write/doodle on it for you. You could hang it on the back of your bedroom door or something, I mean, I don't think its so practical to have millions sweet 16 cards up for very long ; )

PS that idea bout telling every one to wear black or white and you to wear something different is really cool. Thumbs up to that idea for sure! Very original

Get a small group of friends and go somewhere really FUN! Like a musement park[depending on where you live that is, you could go to a indoor water park, or some sort of snow-tubing place me and my friends have soo much fun there!] If you invite just a few friends, and ask them if they can pay at least 10-15bucks! I know of an inside water park and for awhole day i only had to pay 10 bucks--except food of course! Happy birthday!!

A buffet is less expensive than a sit down meal.
A DJ is less expensive than a live band.
You may want to try a social club for the place.

a good place to get the food is a wholesale store like Sams Club or GFS you can get some great deals in there and if you let some of your local stores know that you need to buy larger amounts they will sometimes give you a price break.

Go to Chuck E Cheese!

u can go ice skating indoors and u can make it in ur house or backyard.
if u hav good friends hopefully they will make a suprise party for u.

Have a dance party. Ask around your group of friends if someone can mix and if not, just have everyone bring some cds as a requirement to get in. Your backyard is a free venue. All you need to buy is the snacks.
