Question:

Any clever ideas for a Cars (Pixar) birthday party??

My kid's turning 5 and the theme of the party is the movie Cars. Any good party tips, games, food for this theme?

Answers:
Here's a source. Maybe make some orange cones, stop signs for an obstacle course/ driving game. Have fun.

the kid who says the word for the longest time... eg: ka-choooooooooooooo..............

Get the tablecloth, the cake, cups, napkins, and party bags. Put tiny cars in the party bags and play the movie in the background of the party. Maybe see if they have games at party city with the theme of cars.

I have used this website before...hope you find something here.

well you can go to party city and find all of the things you need with the cars theme. like napkins cups, plates, bowls. you can even get a pinata of one of the characters. hope yer kid has a happy birthday!!!!!!

Play a "red light, green light" game, perhaps through an obstacle course. Give out Hot Wheels cars as favors. As far as food, you can make food in the shape of cars and car parts or other things that are at a racetrack/street. Make a bunch of cookies (instead of or in addition to a small cake) for the kids decorated with stop signs, other road signs, checkered flags, etc. You can make personal pizza "grinders" that look like cars: Get some loaves of French bread, cut them in half lengthwise, then in pieces that are 5-6 inches long. Cover them with spaghetti sauce, then cut slices of white cheese into basic car shapes, put them on the sauce, and use pepperoni for the wheels. Broil them for just a few minutes, until the cheese is melted and the grinders are hot. With children that young (as I'm sure you know) planned activities don't usually go as planned anyway! Another thing that kids enjoy is some sort of art or craft project. When I was a kid, we had an art project at all of my parties. With this theme, even a simple car-themed coloring page would do fine (find one page and make copies for each kid). Give them some time to color their picture, and then add their name and a string and it can be their nametag/and I guess it would end up being a bib, too, which probably wouldn't be a bad thing if you have pizza!! Or some sort of hat would be a fun project as well. Check out Oriental Trading Company for cheap hats/decorations/craft projects/favors/etc. I don't know if you normally get your child's input for their birthday parties, but I know my soon-to-be five-year-old nephew would throw a fit if he didn't get involved in the planning....so perhaps your child has some ideas that you wouldn't even think of! It sounds fun, good luck!!

trying instead of having a sack race have a car race with a podium and make little medals 1,2,3, with ribbon and cardboard and make a checkered flag to finish u can also make traffic like sandwiches u cut the bread in 2 no crusts get round cutout and put a tomatoe for red cheese for amber and lettuce for green

Use a lot of red (the same colour as Lightening McQueen) , racing car themed cake, invite his guest to bring their own toy cars and have races, buy or borrow a slot car set and let the kids have a go on that (maybe a fun competition) red, yellow and green traffic-light cookies or red, yellow and green jello layered in glasses, perhaps you could even have a "screening" of the movie (complete with popcorn) at the end of the party to give the kids a chance to settle down before they get picked up
