Having a 1st birthday party for my grandson?!

Question:

Having a 1st birthday party for my grandson?

what kind of food would be good to serve the kids besides the cake and goodies?

Answers:
As mentioned on here, kids love fruit of all kinds, so that is always a good choice. Also, they all seem to love chicken nuggets.

celery

pasta, kids love pasta.. It's quick, cheap and adults will love it as well.

finger foods!
like those little smokie but wrapped with the crescent rolls from pillsbury.. very easy to make.. mini quesadilles? raw veggies? and dip

1 year crowd:
100% juice punch
cheese cubes
Meat slices
apple slices (no skin)
raisins
gold fish crackers
grapes (offer whole and cut grapes since some little ones can choke on them)
melon wedges (watermelon cantaloupe)

I would suggestion the "Normal" stuff for everyone else.

A tray that has cheese and cold cuts with crackers and maybe a little herb sauce can go for both the toddler and the adult crowd.

A nice fruit tray with the grapes and melon wedges- again- works for both.

appel with carmel on it thats just my guese

hot dogs are always good for the kids. and there are turkey and chicken hot dogs if you dont do pork. i find that the turkey ones are healtiest. I have to think of a few things for my daughters first as well, good luck.

kids love spaghetti! try some bbq pork too. :) fried chicken of course shouldn't be left out... hmm.. these are basically the foundation food we have for children's party.
ps. hot dog on sticks are good too... and some corn on the cob

PB&J sandwiches, cut into triangles
Juice
little cheese cubes

How about little sandwiches? Ham & cheese, or whatever is easy to chew, on bread sliced into 1/4ths.
They're probably gonna have their mind on the "goodies" and playing anyway though , so not much else is really needed.

just like a few people said i say pasta you can pick up some diffrent shapes of pastas and diffrent sauces make a pasta bar with two or three diffrent pastas an diffrent sauces an some salad garlic bread an figure what you grandson likes to eat an make some of that too

They love Spaghetti, miniatures hotdogs, ice cream or sundaes, crackers with toping, chicken wings, macaroni cheese, jello, pudding, milk shakes, hamburgers, pizza gosh so many more.

when i was a kid i love barbeque and chicken with pasta.... hotdog on stick with marshmallow...ice cream

You should have fruit, chicken nuggets, french fries etc. Any way just cook what he usually eats like hotdogs for example some 1 year olds eat hot dogs cut up for them.
Good Luck with your grandsons party.
They probably like to play DUCK DUCK GOOSE!!!

aww how cute

juice
apples,(any fruit)
pizza
mini corn dogs
bite- sized things
pasta
the possibilities are endless have fun, happy birthday!!

Mini hot dogs are great. I was at a toddler's party recently and the mom served mini pb&j sandwiches in a stack. it was so cute. good luck.

serve food that is age appropriate. Such as, things that the children will not normal get choked on or would slide down their throats easily when when. since there will be grown up there as well as children you may want to consider having things for adults, and smaller children. Also remember, you are not feed these people their meals, Just keep is simple safe and fun. It does not take much to impress small children.

FAIRY BREAD........... Thats always a great one, cheese and biscutes, i know they sound like an adults thing but, everytime i have a party or we go to partys, that is all y 2 little boys eat, is the big ppls food...

We are talking about little kids, so what do all little kids like? Hot dogs, and potatoe chips, cheese curls, icecream, punch or capri sun juices, and the birthday cake of course! Don't forget the games, the prizes for the winners, and the goodie bags to take home after the party! and goodnight nurse! it's over.
