Any ideas for a 10 year old boys birthday party?!
Any ideas for a 10 year old boys birthday party?
I was thinking of a sleep-over with his closest friends. Maybe during the day, I'll take them to Dave & Busters for lunch or dinner. But what am I going to do to keep them occupied at my house for the night? Movies, video games, board games, what?
I need some cool ideas!!!!

My son's b-day party is in a week and he wants to have a sleep over with all his buddys at our house, so we will transition his room into a pretend campsite because we live in a cold state this time of year. They can sleep in tent, have fun in his room, and I will make lots of fun snacks that revolve around camping! The invites we sent out had a flashlight attached.
let ur son decide. its his party
Rent one of his favorite movies that they can all watch. Get some sort of cheap toy in bulk that they can all play with, without being too much trouble. Got walkie talkies? Those are always fun.
And always be sure to have great snacks! Food is always the most important part of a party.
You could turn the lights out and scare them and tell scary stories stay up late and get movies and videos.
You're on the right track, but no board games. Board games are fun, but I don't think it will go over well. Make sure you add some late night food like pizza. That's something that most kids don't get, so it will be a nice treat. I think that if you leave them alone for a while, they will definitely find ways to have fun. Plan things for them, but leave some dead time. They will fill it.
If you can rent a Ninendo Wii in your area....they are soooooooooooo cool and kids love it....it will keep them busy all night. There's gobs of games you can get to go with it. And if you need a snack later...get some pizza...kids love pizza...you can't go wrong. I bet the boys will have an awesome time at your party!!!
My son is 9, and went to a birthday party recently that he hasnt stopped talking about. (and begging to have his party there)
Its called Zone 3 or Quasar. They get laser 'guns' and divided into teams and have to get each other. They run around this big old warehouse and try to form some sort of a strategy.
Not sure if you have one of those near you?
Alternately, I took my son and 3 of his closest friends last year to a fun park and bought them a day pass. But yknow, they spent most of their time on the video games. I should have just got some really good playstation games.
There are some really good multiplayer games you can hire now.
Also, water fights are always fun. Buy them all a packet of water balloons.
Enjoy!
just have a boy girl party .the age can be from 10 to 12. thats not bad. only if they play spin the bottle.you dont want that to happen.
Sounds like a great idea. I did the D&B think with my 8 year-old in the fall and it was a big hit. It can get expensive though. I had three other kids and wound up sending $30 on game cards for each. And that was on top of lunch at D&Bs. If you have more than just two or three extra boys, think about bowling, then out for pizza. When you get back home, you can have a board game contest, give them some free video time and wrap up with movies and popcorn. Lights out at midnight and get up early to fresh sausage and pancakes. Sounds like a great party to me.
Here are some day or night activities....
Bowling
laser tag
indoor swimming
minurature golf
arcade
Free...
flag football
Tag
yard camping and cookout
Hope that helps! Good Luck.
if your son is anything like mine, having 3 or 4 of his friends round for a sleepover will give you a very relaxing evening but a very late night! I left them to it and the boys entertained themselves with movies and video games all evening and well into the night... I think it was about 1:30am by the time they went to sleep!
You should (when you get home from Dave & Buster's) let them mess around with Coke and Mentos. They will have a lot of fun, but supervise it well, and do it in your backyard, where it will not make a mess. Buy a whole lot of Coke and Mentos, and good luck!
Instead of spending the money taking them out for lunch or diner, maybe see about getting a magician/science type person to come to the house and entertain them for a few hours. There is one that everyone in my town books months in advance because his tricks / experiments are aimed to intrigue kids your son's age. After he's gone, let them do experiments of their own like make goop and slime. Video games are good too for later but I would avoid board games.
Pick his favorite sport, car, animal, etc and build the party around it .(games ,attire, food etc)
