There is nothing more elegant on your table than a traditional Christmas ham!. Buy your favorite brand of ham, and prepare it the traditional way for an unforgettable Christmas dinner!.

InstructionsDifficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
1 ham, not spiral sliced
12-ounce can of pineapple slices
8-ounce jar of whole maraschino cherries
10 to 20 whole cloves
Toothpicks
Large roasting pan with lid
Turkey baster
Small sharp knife

Step1Score the ham in a diamond-shaped pattern by using the small sharp knife!. Depending on the size of the ham, place the lines approximately 2 to 3 inches apart and less than ? inch deep!. Do not make one continuous score; make several smaller ones!.

Step2Place the pineapple slices on the ham, making sure the pineapple slices are touching each other!. Secure the pineapple slices to the ham with at least 2 toothpicks in each slice!.

Step3Put 1 maraschino cherry in the middle of each pineapple slice using a toothpick to secure it!.

Step4Insert the whole cloves into the scores you've made!. Make a decorative pattern with them, making sure to place them evenly!.

Step5Place the ham in the roasting pan!. Place a small amount of water in the bottom of the roaster, approximately ? cup!.

Step6Cover the ham with the lid or with heavy-duty foil!.

Step7Bake on low heat, approximately 300-325 degrees for an hour!.

Step8Remove lid or foil and continue baking for 15 to 30 more minutes, depending on your oven!.

Step9Remove ham from oven and let sit at least 15 minutes before carving; this will keep the juices inWww@FoodAQ@Com

What I'm planning for mine!. I'm a vegetarian and my guests this year are going along with me but if not I would do either an apricot glazed turkey or my great aunt dovie's ham!.

sides will be:

mashed potatoes

sweet potato casserole with a walnut/brown sugar topping that gets crunchy

cucumber salad- very simple lemon juice, oil, chives, salt, pepper, sugar

glazed bittersweet onions- pearl onions in a reduced sauce

green bean casserole- made with tomatoes, mustard, (bacon) and a handful of other things

angel biscuits

dessert will be pecan pie with home made whip cream

i'd be happy to share any of the recipes in detailWww@FoodAQ@Com

Please do not kill an innocent turkey for your celebration!. Respect life like Buddhists do!. Fruits, Vegetables and Whole weat bread is healthy and harmless to nature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
