I look forward to the girl scout cookie sale every year,but this year the cookies are not as good as they used to be.I would like to know,why you guys could not leave the recipe alone for people like me,who love the "bad" oldfashioned taste with all the fat and carbs.I am disappointed and will look for the taste I love elsewhere.Sincerely Liz Brown

Nestle Toll house cookies recipe
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLé? TOLL HOUSE? Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.
SLICE AND BAKE COOKIE VARIATION:
PREPARE dough as above. Divide in half; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Shape each half into 15-inch log; wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.* Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
* May be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer for up to 8 weeks.
FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (5,200 feet): Increase flour to 2 1/2 cups. Add 2 teaspoons water with flour and reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookie for 17 to 19 minutes.
They are really delicious! I left out the nuts and actually rolled the cookie dough into a log on baking paper, with glad wrap (cling-wrap/film) on the outside and put it in the freezer to chill. I then took them out when it was cool (cold) and cut it into 1 cm rounds and put them on the baking tray. They all turned out even (size and shape) and were just delicious. You must try it if you want to eat a good cookie.

Girl Scout cookies are way too expensive, and the money doesn't stay in the troop for the girls who do all of the work. Most of the money goes to pay someone sitting behind a desk in the main office. I got out of Girl Scouts for that reason. Keebler makes some wonderful cookies, or better yet, make your own! There is nothing better than a cookie fresh out of the oven.
I'm skeptical of the moral values of the Girl Scouts, and I'm not convinced that this organization is as noble as it's cousin, the Boy Scouts.

They changed companies-not sure why but the lemonade ones are awesome.
It depends on what bakery made your cookies. There are 2 places that make the cookies. One seems to be better than the other.
I bought some "Carmel De-lites" and my co worker bought some "Samoas". They are both the same cookie. The Carmel De-lites were softer, and had more flavor than the Samoas.
I agree...sugar free little brownies????? For what you pay for a box of them you ought to get sugar added!!!!!!!! Used to wait for the sale...now in the last few years could care less if I get a call or not.

I was a girl scout leader for 13 years and I know that each year the cookies can be baked by different bakeries. My favorites always came from "The Little Brownie Bakery". I know they can be expensive but they do help the individual troops. My troop sold 7,000 boxes one year and we went on a cruise with the money. At the time that I was leading we got 50 cents from each box of cookies. The person who said the money went to bureaucrats was wrong, at least in Arizona, some of the money obviously goes to pay for the cookies and here most of the money goes to help keep the Girl Scout Camps up and running. My daughter loved going to Camp, so that money was worth it. I still am happy to spend $3 a box for 12 cookies. Girl Scouts help Girls Grow Strong
Tagalong Recipe
Ritz crackers
Peanut butter
Melted Chocolate
Make a sandwich with 2 ritz crackers and peanut butter and then dip in melted chocolate place on waxed paper to harden. They taste "almost" like tagalongs but much cheaper!
